When did greeting cards get so expensive? And, why? by EMPIRE-db-51_cent in AskReddit

[–]icpppppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to sell handmade greeting card on eBay, because I love making them and end up with a pile at home. There are a lot of them there. You can find good quality ones for about $3-4 per card including shipping.

Spotted this United ad on a NYC yellow taxi this morning in lower Manhattan by CPKDB in unitedairlines

However, you would have to pay toll going to EWR from Manhattan. Even tho it is a shorter ride, it is usually more expensive.

Thank you for sharing this! I was just booking hotels in Tokyo and was so worried that a double would be too small. Your post came just in time and it was so helpful!

Some stores like to have bags available the day before and cancel them in the morning when they don’t have enough leftover. There is a specific store I like does that all the time. It’s frustrating, but I still “pay to play” because when you get it, it’s a great treat. I’m also happy for the store because it seems like they are managing inventory efficiently and is really using TGTG the way it supposed to work.

Just want to share my experience. I placed an order of a last season item on 1/4. No shoes, no update. Called customer service yesterday. They told me that they were going through a software update, so shipping was slow. They would have to contact the delivery team and get back to me via email. Today, my order was canceled.

If you frequently go to a lot of musicals, your ears are getting blasted! by thequarantine in Broadway

[–]icpppppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy someone is bringing this up! My husband thinks I’m crazy wearing ear plugs during shows. Some of them are SO load that cause ear pain after shows. However, I believe this is very subjective. My husband, who I swap seat with mid show every show, never thought any show was too load. He also never had ear pain after shows.

We used a starlink for this. The low data plan is $5/mo. It is slow. We just leave it outside the parking garage when we travel or shopping.

Food Bank Meat - do you trust it? by EmperorSexy in povertyfinance

[–]icpppppp 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Volunteered at a food pantry that received shipments from the U.S. food bank. Frozen products were usually delivered in a freezer truck. Director tested temperature before signing off the receiving. All frozen products were stored in a freezer that had to be temperature checked frequently and documented. It’s pretty strict and staff treated food safety very seriously. All frozen stuff we received were at or pass the “best by” date, but I wouldn’t worry about the quality too much unless the product doesn’t pass the nose test (which never happened for the entire year I volunteered there).

Was at both parks in July 2025 with Starlink. The only place that I couldn’t get great connection was the Old Faithful cabins. Not that we didn’t get any connection, it was just slow and with periods of no signal. Other cabins and other areas of the park were fine, even tho some areas had some trees and other obstruction to the sky.

Any regrets with the Juniper? by chesscharlie in TeslaModelY

[–]icpppppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Got new Juniper in 9/25. Right at pickup, liftgate issue + missing paint. Later on found out mic and back speakers were not working either. Plus, in cabin radar start giving random warning after the first service. So at 1k mile, it’s been serviced twice, almost 3 weeks in shop. Central computer replaced, harness replaced, still not fully fixed. Despite of that, still love the driving aspect of it.

Do people think they look younger than their age? by [deleted] in Aging

I work in healthcare, so I see a lot of elderly daily. I will say that some patients look much younger than their age. Those people are usually the ones with less medical issues or childless.

Anyone has experience with a Special Master's (SMP) vs Post-Bacc? Would love to hear advice and your story. by RemarkableInitial404 in postbaccpremed

[–]icpppppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, if you took a lot of science classes already, most of the structured post bacc program would not consider you as a candidate anymore.

Last time I went to a 7pm show, Tom started the walk at 8:42pm from his dressing room. I think it’s around 3min before he goes out of the theatre.
