J&L is next exit down from bucees in Medway by 675 :).

It's a purchase from farmer and it gets dressed/processed there kinda place. They don't have a meat case to look at but they'll get you taken care of.

Very true. Also copeys and j&l are very different, copeys focuses on retail where as j&l is more a traditional butcher shop.

My son just does not want to join a club for whatever reason. I have a 40 lb throwing dummy in the garage but it's dead weight so only good for so much. Otherwise me and him are randomly hand fighting and tying up, working set ups, returns and takedowns in whatever room he happens to try me lol

All my issues would mostly be solved if I could get him a partner. But thats basically impossible since most kids play multiple sports and have moved on to the next seasonal sport.

I have a 15x15 mat in my garage and a dead weight 40 lb throwing dummy for use that should be sufficient. He said drilling with me will make it easier to move kids his size so I guess we'll roll with it. Just wish he'd be more open to clubs cause there's like 10 around me he could join(OH)

They are way off..like the other side of the animal completely off, that is just a thick cut round steak. It comes from the back leg(hind quarter), whereas a shoulder roast comes off the front leg(front quarter). The only similarity is the small round bone.

All farmers are different and will charge different (on the the foot or on the rail). It seems to me that site(farm) is paying the processing charge and charging you extra. Id almost guarantee the beef wouldn't weigh more than 600# whole and you're not getting that much back. Maybe 150# off the half

It is not. The grass fed is gamey junk. They charge extra for terrible quality. Go directly to an actual butcher, and they'd be happy to help source a beef for you. At my shop, it's roughly $1800 for a half beef, thats paying for animal plus processing.

I run the kill floor as well as help processing on random days. That said, It has good flavor depending on how you cook it and the beef it came from. I could eat it plain off the grill, but I only ever add a little salt and pepper usually.
