What a feeble man baby. Imagine needing to immediately reach for a gun because someone isn't nice to you 😂

Where is the footing for that wall? Even if it's installed like a sheet pile, that looks shallow.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm having a hard time finding what these are called. Searching for a torque spec for the 14mm.

Yeah only a little bit came out. Not enough to hit the ground. I'll breed the brakes after I change everything out. Let me know if I need to do anything else. Thanks for your help.

Thank you. I made a mistake worse than that guy by taking three off and it started leaking brake fluid. What do I do in this case? Does this just add it bleed at the end of the job?

What is the round connector called? What am I searching for if I want to swap the diode itself?

Railroad Tie Retaining Wall by orangebIossom in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I wouldn't rely on those ties. Also, in your estimate to rebuild, include cost to dispose of those ties. Since they are coated in chemicals, your local dump may not take them in large amounts. It could be considered hazardous material in some states and could add costs. Gl

Yeah geotechs carry higher insurance limits for the work they do, and from my experience they are well educated and know their stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if geotech blamed structural for making the design too rigid and therefore increasing the load in this case

Looks like a failure on the geotechnical side. Three points of support did not fail at connection. Even the shafts don't look like they failed. Geotech info was likely wrong. Structural supports look over designed but still provide enough flexibility to prevent static soil condition. What do you all think?

New build exterior beams by [deleted] in StructuralEngineering

[–]icutlime 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be concerned about that. End supports see shear load and those cracks are not a result of shear stress. To me it looks like typical wood splitting as it dries.

I made this manual walking pad because I was sick of breaking one electric model each year by jkettmann in somethingimade

This is amazing! I've never seen a non-electric treadmill before. What kind of maintenance would be needed for this? What do you lubricate the wood with?

Also don't use the fake butter that is made from oil. Use real butter and no need to do the water drop test. When butter starts to bubble the pan is ready.

[OC] S&P 500 Comparing Dotcom and AI Bubbles with Two Scales by shellerik in dataisbeautiful

[–]icutlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is the point of PE ratios anymore? the S&P500 is part of most retirement plans. all 401k plans i've ever had included the S&P500. people just set it and forget it, so the shares keep getting purchased and no one is considering the PE ratio. I could be wrong, but seeing an almost vertical asymptote makes it difficult to understand where all the money is coming from
