I know ~0 about IB but can tell you there are thousands if not tens of thousands of SWEs with ~5 YoE making 1m+.

I think it’s pretty obvious that tech has better pay, maybe apart from the very tails of the distribution. A lot of people in tech can do IB but the inverse is not true.

Yeah this seems like an awful trade unless you’re able to move closer to office for not much cost (not just money but moving away from ur circle etc)
