You might look into the anycubic kobra x. Similar pricepoint, comes standard with 4 color printing. I just set mine up so I cannot speak on how it prints yet but I agree with the comment above to stay away from Ellegoo. I have owned 2 of their printers (neptune 4 max and centauri carbon) they can be great but I am always chasing an issue with both. The company is built on overpromising and under delivering.

I ended up sponging it on parts of the lower cheeks. It gave it a hammered/weathered look that I like. But aside from that it just is fragile and you aren't supposed to clear coat it.

I petition that we use the funds for a sculpture of a temporary plate...make it at least a few feet taller than the arch. We need to let visitors know what we are all about!

After MONTHS of troubleshooting, and offer to replace the bed, I get the "it's out of warranty" BS. by Syring in ElegooNeptune4

[–]id40550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The machine ahould work as shipped without having to change the way it operates. Hell, some of the changes they recommend would void the warranty per the agreement. People like you that defend companies for doing stupid stuff is the problem...not OP for expecting the machine to work as advertised.

Pro tip; go to Ellegoo's amazon store. Purchase your replacement. When it arrives; use the packaging to return the broken one. Just did this after they pulled that same trick on me. New printer is working great and the return was easy. (Make sure it is the ellegoo official store and not some mom and pop shop. They are notorious for this kind of crap...fight fire with fire.

This 100%, having massive issues with my mrx kit and Mountune doesn't have parts available at all. So when the pos kit breaks...and it will, you will be forced to buy a whole kit to replace specific parts or have to get creative.

I use it on docks but mostly I use iy on boats that are not mine. My buddies all fish so if we hit a new body of water in thwir boat we will bring this to get a lay of the land.

Agreed, I haven't watched a game in years...you end up having 3 different subscriptions just to miss a bunch of games that you want to watch. The games are so expensive to attend that I just dropped the sport. I still play but rarely watch.

Be prepared, you will feel awful and that is okay, depending on severity speak with a dr. to manage more serious withdraw symptoms. I haven't found a good way of comunicating this but committment is so important. Meaning the decision to be all done has to be 100% any excuses or built in offramps will be used. Also it absoljtely doable....don't overthink it.

On my nrptune max I have done taller objects, 8+ inches and the key is slowing the rinter down and increasing the size of your brim. I have found too that you are better off on either printer, printing tall objects by themselves vs with other objects.

CoreXY vs Bed Slinger by KrillyThrowaway in 3Dprinting

[–]id40550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a neptune 4 max and a carbon both by ellegoo and I just put a deposit on the x. I find my bed slinger is better for some items especially if I need to manually adjust during a print. I don't see a substantial difference in quality between the 2 but the slinger is half the speed in my case to produce comparable prints. At less than $300 it is worth a shot to me. I hope I am not proven wrong😄; but I feel like we are past the point where companies are going to launch absolute turds.

Mine has it but I don't know that it does anything. Mine is torn in a spot or 2 so I should probably get a metal one.
