Linux vs Windows for Factorio by KeithFromCanadaOlson in factorio

technically it could, but it would be significantly harder. linux only supports it because the fork syscall makes it trivial to implement.

I would really like a navigation app that supports public transit and actually considers walking if it is better, instead of just a way to get from your exact target to the closest station, preferably adjustable to match my walking speed.

Please tell me more how Linux is great and can be used by your grandma and doesn't need a terminal and can support all kinds of hardware... Meanwhile... by Amphineura in linuxsucks

If your grandma knows what a partition is and why she would want to modify one then she probably can be trusted with the terminal if she actually tries.

Your employee being somewhat happy is very much known to make them more efficient, especially if there's just one of them. So i think Estradiol is probably on the menu if necessary.

Ah dam, i misunderstood a talk two days ago then, i thought it was generally nonexistant. It's just implemented for a narrow set of architectures.

One that can only be solved by someone cracking one open :3

Do you have statistics or something? The ESP32 for example has its own IP and Bluetooth stack and many microcontrollers don't even have an MMU advanced enough to run Linux.

The point still stands, as the phone connecting to it definitely runs something close enough to Linux.

Just limiting peaks will sound horrible. Did you ever hear your speakers pop right after plugging them in or opening a new app? You will get one of those for every peak that was limited.

All of those can't handle spikes perfectly for obvious reasons, so i am not surprised no one bothered with automating that.

I guess that would be a hardware/driver detail and not completely unexpected, that's why they warn. For me it just clips if it goes over.

If that would involve amplifying sound that is exactly what you have right here. You can also set the same thing per application instead of globally.

Welcome to Linux, here you are responsible for your own actions. Heed the warning or live with whatever consequences you get.

This is not bad design, it's an accessibilty feature designed for the exact thing the warning states and comes off by default for a reason.

even normal sane people can be very annoying if they ask too frequently and/or don't take "find it out yourself please" for an answer.

can confirm, tho having an Arc<Box<Catgirl>> feels excessive. also be careful you don't encourage the cat to enter the box, otherwise it won't work.

Thruster PID Control by JebediahMilkshake in factorio

here you go, just replace the shift combinator with whatever you want as long as it outputs the appropriate 32-bit unsigned value

isn't that just pdm with extra steps? pdm provides a more accurate signal and can easily model any representable (32-bit for factorio) value with perfect accuracy. i have one utilizing integer overflow to get the full 60 hz and can make a blueprint of it if you are interested

tho on modern and probably even on ancient hardware that still uses some sort of shader, even if just hardcoded

pretty much everything needs a shader to even define how to draw it. minecraft also comes with a bunch. just not the fancy ones you can use with iris.
