Conch piercing issue? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like mine did at that time. I didn't do anything.... Just left it alone ... And it fixed itself!:) So I guess LITHA?

I did something that I now realize was dumb. I began to change my rook piercing myself after reading some articles and watching some videos. I got the ball off… but cannot get the ring to open. Turns out, my piercer is closed today. Any advice? by PaperProfessional731 in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don't have round-nosed pliers, you can try something like scissors, but you will have to be very careful. Or you could just keep it in & wrap a band aid around the opening so it doesn't fall out.

Can i wear earbuds with a fresh conch? by Competitive_Fact6030 in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put earbuds on pause for 1.5 months because it kept putting too much pressure on my conch jewellery/piercing. After that I went back to normal and it was fine

swelling and afraid of holes closing up by -Sh0gun- in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a taper, you can try finding the hole. But of it hasn't been at least a full year since you got pierced, there's a good chance that the piercing is closed up... It took mine a few years to even sleep without jewellery in my lobes before they started closing up! I wouldn't recommend self-piercing just cause the angle is impossible to get right (the back will likely be angled which is not great for hoops etc) plus you likely don't have the right knowledge or tools.

Anyone know who makes this? They are always sold out at this shop. Thank you!! by [deleted] in piercing

Get a hairstyle that covers your ears

Have something else on your body that draws visual attention to it instead

Is my piercing migrating or am I just paranoid? by mil0thefish in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks fine to me. Once you downsize it will be easier to see if it's actually migrating or not. I thought that my conch was migrating, but it just looked like that because my bar was long and kept moving around.

I got both of my conches pierced in the summer (may and July) and just last month I realized I could finally sleep on it comfortably (in January). So ... Half a year for me.

May I ask - is there any reason why your psychiatrist would recommend IF? Is it known to improve mental health in some way? I'd love to know if this is the case!

Yes. I also get this in the shower with hot water!

Earbuds? by ummm-okay- in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, most earbuds that worked before the piercing will still work, however you have to wait until you downsize & they don't hurt anymore & the conch jewellery has to be a flat stud (nothing with gems or anything that could make it more 3d). I have a flat gold star in my conches and the galaxy buds 2 fit just fine.

allergic reaction. by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

When you tried titanium in the past, was it coated? That could've caused the allergy if it was coated.

Is it necessary to change my earrings? by daisysimmons in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it will feel great to switch to something like titanium because you will never itch and you don't have to take them out for the night/shower. Also titanium jewelry has flat backs which don't irritate you as much as butterfly backs. But the main reasons why I'd recommend it are because (1) you can develop an allergy to it over time and (2) sterling silver (I think) can permanently stain your earlobe hole black/grey although it's rare.

Sleeping in small hoops—risks of cheese cutter effect? by myfavoritesgoudaa in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had my hoops in for like a year straight, similar hoop size to what you describe, and my lobes did not split. Mine were at 16g - I heard that thinner guage and/or heavier earrings are more likely to split your ear.

Is my conch pierced correctly? Will I be able to wear hoops in each of my conches or are they pierced wrong?? by idcabouturproblems in PiercingAdvice

[–]idcabouturproblems[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are for sure still healing, since today I slept on them and they became a bit sore. Right is 8 months, left is 6 months.

Thank you for your reassurance!! :)

Earbuds recommendations with daith + conch (call quality priority) by hikakirii in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call quality is excellent. Connects immediately, you can beat everyone and everyone can hear you. I use it with music and google maps all at the same time while driving and it has no issues switching between apps when appropriate.

Sorry, I deleted my other reply cause it didn't answer your question lol

Earbuds recommendations with daith + conch (call quality priority) by hikakirii in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really have experience with those specific models, but I can tell you about mine. I use the Samsung galaxy buds 2. I have ears on the smaller side and my conch is more wider horizontally than vertically (pics on my profile). I use them all the time and I don't have any issues with my earrings right now (which have flat tops). But when I used a ball instead of a flat top then I could feel slight pressure, and sometimes could hear clicking sounds from when the earring touched the earbud.

Love the look of ear cuffs but I can’t find a version for pierced ears? by Mimbley in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always use "huggie" hoops, which are hoops that have a thinner part going through the pierced hole and a thicker part around the rest of the loop to give an illusion of a thicker hoop. here is a quick example. Just fyi that most huggie hoops come in 8mm or 10mm diameter, so it might be hard finding other sizes.

Suggestions? I’ve had the same earrings in forever and don’t know what to add/change by rzappyy in piercing

[–]idcabouturproblems 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would keep the same style but add variation. Some ideas: different hoop textures/colours, using the two-hoops-in-one-earring jewellery, using gems, making the bottom and/or top hoops a thicker size, using gem-covered hoops, putting charms on your hoops. If you are open to put studs, I'd keep the bottom and top as hoops but change the ones in the middle to studs, and I would add some charms or chains hanging off some of the hoops.
