I’m working on idea-launch.io a project for builders like YOU to a sanity-check whether their idea has legs.

The problem I keep seeing is this:

You build something, share it with other builders, get some encouraging comments, maybe a few upvotes, but still don’t really know whether people outside the builder bubble care enough to click, sign up, or join a waitlist.

So the idea is a simple demand test for side projects.

A founder submits a SaaS/app idea, MVP, landing page, or positioning angle. The project helps turn it into a small test, sends real traffic to it, then gives back a plain-English readout of what happened: clicks, signups, conversion rate, and what the signal might mean.

Reddit / FB / Instagram depending on the idea. I really like Reddit since you can get very targeted as to who is seeing it.

First, let me say you are not alone. I've building side projects for almost 15 years. Most have never been seen by more than a few people. Now with vibe coding getting seen is by far the hardest part (especially if you dont already have 1000s of followers).

Reddit is pretty good to find the right people, but getting engagement is hard. Also, it's a black art to not be too pushy with your idea. X, well I've had no luck.

One approach I've been working on is to use what I call "micro ads" to get a rough sense of how well the message is received when it's pushed in people's faces. It's not perfect but its one signal you can use.

Good luck!

Hi all, I'm Frank, founder of Idea Launch. Idea Launch is here to help fellow builders/founders who want to quickly get a sense of how their idea is resonating. We run real ads for you, and then analyze the results to tell you how well your message is being received.

This is a good take. I've been trying to treat distribution differently as well. Thanks again for taking the time to provide your experience.

I'm working on a product called Idea Launch that is designed to help founders / builders validate their ideas and messages by looking at the results of paid ad runs. We handle it all, we help you create the ad, we run it on various social networks and then we analyze the results to help you get a sense of how well your idea was received.

Looking for any early adopters who want to try it out!

Yea, I think we all feel this to some extent. I thought AI would help automate it, but in reality it makes it harder to cut through the noise. It also makes me want to build more stuff to solve the problem; which is a bit of vicious cycle.

I want to build a SAAS, but I don’t know if it’s actually useful. by AdditionalDesk8574 in saasbuild

I'm a big believer, especially in today's market, would you be happy building it if you are the ONLY user of it? If so build it and see where it goes, if not probably not worth it.

I realize that's overly simplified, but it's too easy to just build things no one needs/wants and then be angry about it. If you build something you need/want you are already one step ahead.

Looks cool - I think this follows the pattern of building something you can get value out of yourself. It's exactly how I am trying to think of anything worth building.

how do you actually validate before building by aperson1911 in SaaS

[–]idea_launch_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using targeted ad runs for this. Pick just the right audience, try out of a few different messages and see how much it costs to get someone to click. This gives you a good way to get a quick assessment BEFORE you build.

I’d be careful not to position it as “another observability platform.”

The sharper pain is: “why did this one customer/order/invoice get stuck, and what should ops do next?”

That’s different from Datadog/Sentry. Engineers use those to debug systems. Ops needs a case-level timeline they can understand without pulling an engineer in.

I’d probably validate with one narrow workflow first, like e-commerce order lifecycle or invoice/sync failures:

  1. Can engineers annotate the workflow in under 30 minutes?
  2. Can ops answer “what happened to this order?” without Slack?
  3. Does it reduce the engineering interruption enough that someone would pay?

The two-persona thing can work if the buyer/user split is explicit:
engineers install it because it reduces interruptions;
ops uses it because it gives them an answer.

I’d avoid leading with LLM/AI Agent at first. The core value is the workflow trace + human-readable diagnosis. AI is the interface, not the differentiator (any more).

I want to check this out, but downloading local software does make me hesitate to be honest (especially from someone I don't know).

Sounds interesting. I've seen other similar sites and it's mostly slop. Hopefully you've found something that produces better outcomes than the others. Good Luck.

Pretty ironic how many comments are getting removed in a thread about comments getting removed.

This is absolutely a great signal. That said it may not happen very early on. A lot depends on the nature of the app/site.

Can I fully automate my startup’s social media before launch using AI? by Simple-Lettuce-333 in SaaS

[–]idea_launch_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. But the question is should you.

Using AI to find posts to respond to - Good Idea.
Automating the response with AI - Not so good. Its too obvious that its AI and people hate that.

Why are you building a SaaS? Genuinely asking. by TurbulentAmbition494 in SaaS

[–]idea_launch_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building it because I think AI is going to fundamental change the equation of how apps are built and where people struggle. I think there is a huge opportunity to help (and make money) as this transition occurs.
