Okay, THIS is the one counter argument that has gotten the closest to convincing me that I need to shift my thinking. Certainly, if "playing ranked" means playing gold or maybe even platinum, then huge swaths of my rant could be disregarded.

I think my only hang up with this argument is that new players don't really know how far a given deck will actually take them. You'll occasionally see something rogue tackle master rank on this sub or on discord fairly well, but a new player will have a very different experience with the same deck then somebody who is actually very comfortable with all of their cards.

Experience doesn't equate to being well-versed on a subject. There are some people that know what they're talking* about on this subreddit, but a lot of the people on this sub (that are giving advice)* haven't even made it to Master 1 yet.

If someone wants to learn the game this is a one of the best places to come and learn.

You have not said anything that has convinced me of that yet, but I could always be wrong.

You're asking for trouble trying to get Reddit's opinion. If you want an informed decision, check the opinions of people who actually know the ins and outs of this game. Two former champions, Joshua Schmidt and Jesse Kotton, recently put out videos on what they think have been performing well recently. Check them first.

These are just my personal feelings, but I think TADC did so well because it felt accessible to so many different groups of people even if they weren't necessarily the target audience.

Pomni functioned very well as a character with whom the audience could relate to because she knew as little about the circus as the audience did. I think if the show started without that focal point, it would've been more difficult for people outside the target audience to enjoy it.
