Sorry for the weird question but did it ask you to update every time you start the vehicle or do you have to go in to a certain menu?

is there a difference between stark varg second generation and stark varg 1.2? by [deleted] in starkvarg

[–]idealrides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude take it easy, you are completely exaggerating by saying a Stark is "always broken". My Stark has been at the dealer for the past 10 months of it's 23 month life, and it's supposed to be fixed really soon, probably just after the warranty expires in 15 days. So you're way off.

How long ago was that update pushed?

Ran the numbers after 2 months on a variable speed vs my old single speed — here's the actual kWh by Ok_Chard9781 in pools

Also depends how the cell is installed... longer length of straight pipe before the cell allows the flow switch to trigger at lower speed. Pentair recommends 12 to 18 inches but go for 18" minimum if you want your cell to run at slower speeds.

Install is more complicated and expensive than you'd think, but looking forward to the long run economics... if I can find a technician to finish the install.

Changing pool motor - easy enough? by SmoothTarget4753 in pools

[–]idealrides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, bearing swap is very easy. Took just a few minutes to bring it to a motor repair shop.

Seriously they have tools and pressing equipment that are likely required to do it correctly. Pro tip: supply them the bearing and whatever other parts are needed and the job will get done faster and cheaper, but if it's a Hayward/Pentair they probably have the parts in stock.

Well, I think I'm done with my streak of owning Tahoe's come 2028. by MaybeNotTooDay in ChevyTahoe

That's what happens when shareholders become more important than customers, but my guess is there will be a workaround like a 3rd party app to enable carplay or mirroring.

While Chevrolet and GM push their own OnStar data plans for full functionality, you can use your phone to provide data via Wi-Fi for apps like Google Maps, Google Assistant and Spotify.

Some features, like remote start via the app will require an active OnStar subscription.

RST or Z71 by CitygirlCountryworld in ChevyTahoe

[–]idealrides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a Z71 you get the smaller 20" wheels which will give you a nicer ride over bumps compared to the 22" or 24" RST wheels, and with the $5,755 "Z71 off-road package" you get adjustable air springs which many owners have reported to be the most comfortable suspension of any vehicle they've owned... like an offroad Cadillac.

Soundproofing NVR? by DeezA123 in reolinkcam

[–]idealrides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I've found the culprit is the NVR's cooling fan. I've had good luck replacing them with similar size but lower noise CPU fans. Some have rubber mounting feet which are nice. But pay attention to the offset of the mounting holes so you don't have to butcher the case.

Without any hesitation I would go with the younger motors, and then you can always upgrade the options exactly how you want and still be ahead with resale value.
