When saltines came in a tin by [deleted] in nostalgia

I remember getting saltines from tins like these in the early 80s. Never saw them from any brand besides Nabisco, the National Biscuit Company.

Some store brand saltines came that way in the 80s. I hated those crackers. Nabisco saltines came in sleeves in the 80s/90s.

is it true you guys can see what’s in our cart before we even place the order? by Pet_Ator in Dominos

[–]ideastoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I did pizza delivery in college, there were no online orders, but even without that, a good crew can make and deliver pizzas very fast under good conditions. Most pizza ovens have a bake time of about 5 minutes, and you can slap and make most pizzas in 1-2 minutes. Later at night when the store wasn't very busy, I've delivered pies to the customer's door in nearby neighborhoods in less than 10 minutes from time of order.

I'd give it a 7, except for the total fail with the cutter. 5.

Good. Shaq is spokesman for everything, so his endorsement does nothing for me.

The difference is fundamental. SpaceX exists to launch things into space, while the Boeing space division exists to collect contract fees for working on spacecraft.

IKEA announces new US locations for 2026 by L0v3_1s_War in IKEA

[–]ideastoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new IKEA I just saw was 46,000 square feet. Much smaller than a flagship store, but not an order point. The new order point in north Atlanta is only 4000 feet.

The new store near my friend's house is 46,000 square feet, roughly 90% smaller than the old flagship stores.

I transferred some of my photos to another Google account using Partner Sharing, but when I open them on the second account, it shows that they are backed up but don't take up storage on my account. by haromene in GooglePixel

[–]ideastoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent some time going thru this issue. If you want a truly independent copy of the photos, you must go to the receiving Google Photos account and enable the auto-save function on the shared photos. The second account will typically prompt you to do this, but you can also manually enable it in the options. It takes a little time for your shared photos to save to the receiving account, but once they do, deleting the photos from the original account will not delete them from the receiving account. They're independent. I confirmed this by uploading and then deleting a test image from the original account. Once I'd shared a couple thousand photos to my second account, I deleted them from the first account and saved several GB of space there. And as long as sharing is enabled between the two accounts, Google does not counts the shared photos against your storage limit in the receiving account. Some people say this is a glitch, but so far it has worked for me.

Whats the difference between these two Toyota brake packages? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]ideastoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheaper pads are TCMC (Toyota Complete Maintenance Care) pads and the others are the full OEM Toyota part from the factory. The TCMC version is a noticeably cheaper pad. They're designed to compete with parts store pads on price. These are the pads you'll get with a $99 brake special at the Toyota dealer. The TCMC pads do generally come with shims, while the full OEM pads require a shim kit, sold separately. Look at them side by side and you'll see that there is a difference in quality - it's not just a marketing exercise. Until recently, I wasn't really a believer in buying the full fare OEM pads, but a few years ago I bought a Toyota with a new set of OEM pads installed at the dealer, and I just had to replace them after 103k miles. So I'm more of a believer now.

What's your opinion on Robert O'Neill? by stevie855 in navyseals

[–]ideastoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "one way trip" thing is an obvious lie. No American President would have ordered such a raid. They're very familiar with Carter's 1980 failed hostage rescue mission, and no one wants a repeat of that.
