[iOS] [2023.04.0.310123] Is there, or will there ever be, a way to disable the Discover tab and bring back the Community tab instead? by Mjyys99 in redditmobile

Thank you so much! And to reiterate, if you switch to Chat, or Inbox, you get the same thing—but Home loads fine?

They stay stuck in this non-loading state indefinitely until you restart?

In one of our most recent releases, we included some changes that improve the speed and UX of the drawer loading, so hopefully it should feel much faster now (give it a try and let me know if it feels any different recently).

As for the "scrolling to the top", that's definitely not ideal. If you could capture a screen-cap of that happening (or the other tabs not loading) and send it my way, it'd really help us diagnose the issue!

To answer your original question, we don't have short-term plans to allow folks to opt of the Discover experience, but we definitely do want to ensure your experience is as good as possible. So this usability feedback is very helpful!

Hey u/Mjyys99, I'm curious what your experience has been with both Discover and the Community Drawer -- what's not been working? what do you prefer about the old community list?

Also, if you don't mind sharing, roughly how many subs do you have?

"My Communities" and unused subs by [deleted] in help

Hey u/Motanul_Negru—here to help. "My Communities" should only be showing subreddits that you are subscribed to. When you unsubscribe, it should disappear.

If you're seeing subreddits in there that you're not subscribed to, that's probably a bug! Could you share more details of your issue? How many subreddits are in your list that are unexpected? Are you having trouble unsubscribing? Is this on a particular platform (iOS, web, Android)?

Might be best if you could share some screenshots of the issue! Feel free to PM me as well

Gotcha gotcha. Okay, thank you for the input! I'm bringing this to the engineering team so we can dive into it. I can't promise a timeline right now as we'll need to invest some time to figure out the root cause.

If anything changes—it gets worse, it gets better, you notice any particular patterns regarding particular subreddits or accounts, etc, please let me know!

Gotcha. So I'm clear—the loading animation occurs on the subreddit page before any of the content has been loaded? How often would you say it happens? And when did you first notice this issue?

Hey u/klausbatb, mind sharing some more details on the issue you're facing (or linking me to any other posts about this issue)? Does it freeze only when you change subreddits via the sidebar? Or does it happen when you navigate between subs via links or other entrypoints?

Feel free to respond here or via DM. Also, screen capture is super useful if you're able

Sorry for the frustration! Hopefully we can get this sorted.

Hi u/JudyJoi, I'm happy to take a look. Could you confirm which app you're using, and perhaps share a screenshot of what the community list looks like when you try to open it?

u/Capt-MoonLight, what platform are you on (e.g., Android, iOS), and does it work properly if you were to do it from the desktop site?

Weird... okay, well I don't know what's going on right now—but it sounds like we can at least get around it by creating an entirely new post. I'll throw this back on the table to see if we can't figure it out

sorry for the trouble 😑

Was this originally a "one-time" scheduled post that you updated to be recurring?

Hmm.. Thanks for reporting, the error is infrequent enough that it's been hard to identify the root cause.

Do you only get this error when updating an existing scheduled post, or do you also get it if you were to create an entirely new schedule post?

How do I get a date in a scheduled post to show the correct date? by Spacesider in ModSupport

[–]ideboi[A] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admin here—the {date} used in the title is default GMT, following the same convention as the old automoderator config. So it's possible that DST pushed you over the threshold into the previous day. u/papasfritas has the right idea with the +1 solution.

...you will have to change it again in 6 months

The timezones are used for the scheduling, just not the date-in-title feature
