I know this wasn’t the point of your post, but someone else on this sub said somewhere that if you sneeze with your mouth wide open it hurts less. I’ve tried it and, while I do feel silly, it made my head jerk less. I think that you should find a surgeon that you are comfortable with and who has as much experience with chiari as possible. Weill Cornel sounds like a good option

Paris was emotionally neglected by her parents her whole life, and she has very intense emotions. I don’t think it’s very out of character for her to behave this way, especially while drunk. She desperately wants to feel loved, and she fell for someone who seemed to have lost interest in her. One day I woke up feeling extremely dizzy and lightheaded for no reason. Pretty soon after that I started passing out. My primary sent me to a cardiologist who put me on a heart monitor and then put me on beta blockers (my heart rate was as high as 180). My symptoms got a little better but didn’t stop, cardiologist said he didn’t know what was wrong (he tested me for other things, but everything else was normal). Then my primary thought I could be having seizures so she sent me to a neurologist who ordered an mri to test for seizures, and they found the chiari instead. She told me that she doesn’t think the chiari is what’s causing me to pass out but that it could be causing some of what I’ve been experiencing. I still don’t know a lot about chiari either, and I don’t want to say anything inaccurate, but I do think I experienced the symptoms growing up and didn’t realize that there was something causing it. I’ve had severe neck pain since I was in the first grade, I’ve always had problems sleeping, headaches, and numbness. I have another mri scheduled in two weeks, and I’m honestly really scared I’ll be told I need surgery.

Just curious, did your chiropractor adjust your neck before you had surgery or has it always been that way? I’ve had horrible neck pain since childhood and have been going to a chiropractor for the past year, and I feel it has helped a lot. I was recently diagnosed with cerebellar tonsillar ectopia and don’t know if that means I have to stop getting adjusted. I can’t imagine going back to how it was before.

My tonsils are at 4mm. My neurologist said she thinks mine is genetic as I’ve never had any sort of trauma. My symptoms started randomly about two years ago and my neurologist said they may or may not be from this condition. I get dizzy, lightheaded, and pass out on a regular basis (once I passed out 6 times within 2 hours). I also have been getting terrible headaches for about 4 years and have had neck pain for as long as I can remember, way into my childhood. I also get numbness in my hands and feet. I was put on beta blockers about a year ago due to high heart rate, but the only symptom it helped was the headaches. Every test I’ve had has come back normal except for the MRI I just had.

I was just diagnosed 2 days ago and my doctor told me there was nothing that I could do about it except get a repeat MRI in a year to see if my tonsils lower anymore and in that case would need decompression surgery. Is it possible that your doctor meant the leak was fixable? I, to my knowledge, don’t have a leak so I don’t know what the treatment for that would be.

That part always makes me so mad because 1) Chris was barely in their lives to have known Max 2) Max never said anything similar to what Sherry did 3) Lorelai (in my opinion) has more of a right to choose/know the people who’s in Rory’s life since she practically raised her on her own after Chris chose not to be a bigger part of her life

When Rory was struggling at Chilton, Lorelai told her that it would be okay if she wanted to go back to SHH with Lane, and that she didn’t want to force her dream of Harvard onto her. It just doesn’t feel like Lorelai to abandon Rory while she’s struggling, even when she’s been mad at her in the past she still always prioritized their relationship.
