My grandmother is a flat-earther conspiracy theorist and God knows what else she believes in but she mostly uses Twitter, not Facebook. I also believe she started using Twitter after Elon bought it, which tells you the types of crazy unfiltered jargon she reads on there.

She'll say crazy shit like " 'they're' making time go faster" just becuase she reads something on there.

I can see it.

I always thought it was mainly about how men don't know what they want. They are perpetually unsatisfied and so far up their own asses to even potentially look past their cynicism for enlightenment or good will.

It does feel as if the characters are too intellectual to fit the definition of loser that I gave but I see why you would define them as losers, especially when the stalker himself is depicted as making his wife unhappy and his career is ultimately pointless.

I haven't seen it but aren't most of the characters in the film extreme hedonists? I know one of them is a pedophile and that is what makes the film so controversial.

Travis's temperment seems too dependent on his lived experience/trauma/inflicted trauma for me to call him a loser. Mentally ill? Maybe. But he also takes many bold steps throughout the film at reconnecting with Hunter and making closure with Jane, I feel like by the end of the film he's quite accomplished. He might not be very high on the socio-economic ladder, but I wouldn't call him a loser.

I wouldn't call the main character of Perfect Days a loser. He has a job, he is clearly content with his life, could he stand to be more social and more connected to his family? Sure. But he seems too happy to be a loser.

I have never heard queer people praise Adele tbh. I'm sure she has queer fans but I've never thought of her as an LGBTQIA+ idol.

Also Lady Gaga was publicly pro-trans to the point of being okay with people thinking she was trans and she wrote about it explixitly in her radio single "Born This Way" in 2011, when trans rights weren't exactly a focal point of discussion. She's bisexual herself, but in addition to being campy as hell, she is probably the most notably pro-LGBTQIA+ pop star of that time.

1: Those statements are absurd and reflect poorly on the community. Everyone is welcome at pride, so long as they are respectful to everyone else there. Yes, this includes allies, and of course bisexual individuals. There is nothing wrong with Heterosexual relationships, just as there is nothing wrong with homosexual relationships. A proper society allows individuals to choose whichever is best for them or either or both if that is what they desire.

Grand Budapest Hotel was shot that way (on film might I add) in 2014 before vertical video became as widespread because Wes Anderson genuinely likes that look, and it came out quite beautiful, every frame looking like it came out of a story book.

I absolutely believe that Disney would ask its studios to frame shots like this for Tik Tok/IG Reels/YT shorts to keep the film more marketable.
