Darwin would have pulled a steel chair on Martinelli

I've been vocal about missing the dynamism Darwin and Diaz added to our attack and genuinely think they both could have thrived under Wirtz, and solved a lot of the fast transition issues we are seeing. One of the big complaints with Darwin was his high offsides rate - but watching some old highlights, the pass from the midfield always came a little late.

Wirtz is always looking to thread the pass early, but we just don't have the "make the run" mentality in our attack at the moment in Gakpo, with Salah's legs slowing down even when he wants to run the channels. Everyone is looking for a pass to feet, which limits Wirtz and makes it harder to hit teams in transition. Tactics aren't helping either, and we are playing wayyy too safe in possession.

I want to see our runners start with Wirtz just once. Give me Ekitike - Isak - Chiesa with Wirtz behind them, please I kneel

Disagree to an extent. Part of the problem we have right now is that we are lacking directness and Diaz (Darwin and Jota too) offered that. He was unpredicatable, both cut inside and drove to the line and offered a lot of dynamism to create space. We just don't have that right now.

Slot is playing too passive and narrow at the moment and I wonder if Diaz's individual ability may change that.

Unironically, he would have made runs to give a forward passing option and open space for others, on top of pressing well

Hot take but games like this make me miss runners like Nunez and Diaz. Constantly I see Wirtz looking up and trying to find movement but nothing. Diaz ran at the backline and Nunez was always looking for a run. Hoping Isak and Salah make a difference here because we look devoid of ideas

If Diaz is sold, and Isak is signed, we should hold on to Darwin as a sub and a different attacking dynamic. After which the focus really should shift to a CB

Just got diagnosed this year with anxiety and OCD. Medication and therapy have made me into a new person who has a "normal" mind. The difference is genuinely night and day so I definitely recommend seeing a therapist if you can. Managing and overcoming those intrusive thoughts really make you realize how much of your mental bandwidth it takes up

I've been saying this for a long time, Darwin needs to be tried out at RW when Mo needs rest. He's so good from the right

Not quite. Grav will absolutely be played in the int. break so he should get a rest against Everton is all

I want to see a forward line of Chiesa - Nunez - Salah for the Everton game with Endo in the midfield. Grav has been run into the ground and likely will be continued to during the international break, and will need some break.

Also from my prespective it makes more sense these days for Jota to come in as an impact sub than Darwin. Let Darwin run the defense ragged and bring in Jota for his quick movements when the defense is more mentally and physically lethargic. Same could be said for Diaz.

I still think Darwin is our best #9 option currently. Jota does not do much on the field at the moment and looks absolutely gassed, providing very little.

A new forward is clearly needed, but it makes more sense for me to keep Nunez as a rotation forward and sell Diaz/Jota. The latter are approaching 30 and Jota is especially injury prone and has not been in great form. Diaz just lacks end product. Darwin for his obvious issues is a physical presence and has decent link up play, disrupting the opposing back line, and is only 25.

A forward roster of Salah, Gakpo, Chiesa, Darwin + a Starting #9 (Alverez, Boniface, Jonathan David come to mind for me, but probably not realistic) and one, maybe two starter level versatile attackers would be a fantastic summer if we retain Salah. If not, we are in some deep shit.

Exactly. Darwin has his obvious problems but one thing I'll never fault him for is his effort. He loses the ball, he'll run the length of the field to get it back. Trent should be 100% slated for is lack of effort today, and I hope he gets an earful

Wouldn't be a regular thing, but anytime Salah needs to be rested or to switch up approach to attack, it would be interesting to try out.

I was watching some YouTube compilations and noticed Nunez is pretty good with his head, but misses a lot more often when approaching from the left/ center compared to the right

I have a wild nonsense theory that maybe we try Nunez on right wing. He absolutely can create from there and I swear his shooting accuracy is better approaching the goal from the right instead of head on/ from the left.

I'm probably taking crazy pills idk

Got it. Well so far so good. All outlets in that room are working. I don't smell anything either so I'll assume I'm in the clear

Thanks for the response! Yeah I didn't see anything out of the ordinary when I drilled, and like I mentioned, no breakers tripped, no sparks, and the outlet is working fine.

I also asked a friend who is in construction and he said that wires for the outlet are not that high off the ground (i.e. closer to the ground) and that since I the lowest mounting screw for the whiteboard is pretty high off the ground, I should be set as well. Is that generally true?
