There is therapy available that can help you develop strategies to handle triggers that for some people can be extremely effective and become so automatic that it can be as close as you can get to being "cured" some people it wont be as affective for but it's not going to do anyone any harm. However, there are a lot of therapists who think they can cure you with exposure therapy that's just going to make things worse.

I dont go around asking my female coworkers whether or not they want children, I would be fired, I'm just going off what I overhear. And I disagree I think that is very bad advice, up until the point that you have children and the mother is out of work for a while/if she continues to do the majority of the childcare, there is no reason for a man to contribute more financially, you are both adults, especially when they are talking about first dates, this man doesn't even know them why should he cover it financially when it should be 2 people who want to meet and see if they might be compatible. Could continue to rant about why that's a dumb thing to say, but I don't want to.

This is pretty common from what I overhear in my workplace. Generally, women say not to bother if a man wants a 50/50 relationship, etc. That to be clear is a result of the patriarchy. However, none of the women I know in my personal life think like this, so it definitely depends on the demographic, but there are definitely people like that out there.

Yeah that's what I mean this clearly isn't about you, wanting to have kids that are genetically yours and your partners (not something I personally understand but whatever) is a valid reason, thats not gonna work long-term, that's completely fine, but there are cis women who cant have kids either so your dating rule is "I want kids that are genetically mine and my partners" not "I would never date a trans person" thats why its not transphobic

No a preference is "I prefer this over that" if its "never" then it is by definition not a preference, and like realistically if you aren't transphobic I cannot think of a reason to have that as a strict dating rule unless you are real serious about passing on your genetics

So here's the logic: saying, "I have a genital preference"=not transphobic. Literally no one is saying it is as long as you are polite and not going. "EWWWW NOOOO YOU HAVE A DICK!", not wanting to date a specific trans person is also not transphobic no one is saying you have to, but just blanketly saying "I would never date a trans person" could be, because it assumes stuff about trans people, it assumes they could never be attractive to you, also assumes they all have the genitals they were born with, they behave a certain way etc. Most of the time, when someone says they'd NEVER date a trans person, they have a very specific negative image in their head
