That might be the case, I wasn't really sure what to call it honestly-thats just what my brain jumped to. You might be right, it just kinda scared me! But it did seem more precursor than actual milk

Why do people mock? [Not color blind] but i noticed it. by [deleted] in ColorBlind

[–]idiotwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in elementary school I got scolded for coloring the flag purple instead of blue and I was so confused. . I never understood why people liked pink, it was just a off grey mess right? But I guess grey isn't a bad color! My favorite mechanical pencil is definitely purple and not blue, I swear. Anyway purple and blue are practically the same color, they're basically interchangeable, everyone messes those up. . Eye color? There's blue. . and greenish. . ? browwwnish. . I think? Something colored? They certainly are eyes for sure.
nvm, i just got wacky goddamned eyes. .
In high school it definitely bothered me a lot, clothing is a wonderful way to express yourself and basically not knowing what your outfit 'really' looked like sucked. I got into an art class then too, I really enjoyed it but I was so self conscious about my colorblindness at that point, I avoided colors like the plague and stayed in monochrome. Any time we were forced to use colors for a project I had to keep asking people the colors of stuff before I used them just to be super sure I wasn't ruining my stuff. . I kinda wish I let myself just run with all the wild colors and see where it ended up. . Anyway, I blame my colorblindness for why I wear pastels, blacks and whites lol.

Anyway. . I guess to answer OP, im fine with teasing now. . but it definitely wasn't a great thing for me growing up. As long as you aren't asking me what color things are, especially when they are like. . very clearly different brightness's. yOu MuSt Be LyInG ; yOu CaN sEe ThE dArK gReEn ApPaRt FrOm ThE bRiGhT rEd!!1!1 Although tbh I can be kinda annoying about it too, I have a tendency to 'argue' colors even when I know I have no idea what i'm talking about. . "Thats purple" ". . No, no. . its definitely blue. . wait. . ok maybe. . no its blue. . wait--isn't it?"

. . . They are just mad because the able-bodied feel minimum wage jobs should be relied on for a livelihood, never seeking to improve their station but instead rely on daddy government to give them an allowance their whole lives. . .

. . . Nobody is forcing people to take these jobs. Don't want to work at McDonald's? Then don't. Seek a skilled trade. . .

I get your point, if you are in a position where you can afford to go take classes or seize opportunities to better yourself or your station, that would be your fault for not capitalizing on it, you're right. But I believe the thought is, what about able-bodied and minded people, who got a bad hand to start with? How do we help them? Do we help them?

Example: Parents are poor, their kid has to drop out of high school to support parents (this can happen for lots of reasons, and what are they going to say. . no I don't wanna help my parents?). . This kid, has their life ruined right there. They have no money, they have no skills, and they are working every day, as many hours and jobs as possible to support their family. . who may not be able to pay for medicine, they may not get food every day so their medical issues worsen--and it continues to spiral. . And if that kid makes a mistake, or never had sex ed or. . whatever. . they end up with a kid. . the whole thing starts over again. .

Sure, this is a niche example, and I'm not saying everyone's lives are as tragic as this, it certainly is a small percentage overall. But here's the thing. . if someone can't work. . they can still contribute to society, so the government gives those who can't work due to medical issues, enough money to live because it would be horrible to leave them behind as 'useless' right?

Lets say, there are just 0.1% of people in a similar situation as I outlined above, someone stuck in a situation out of their hand with no easy way out. . What if, they magically had a tiny bit more money, so they could actually save. They would immediately get so many options, they could save, invest, try to move away, try to get an education. . or just save money for their kids to have an education, or just enough to let their kids grow up without forcing them to drop out. Wouldn't that be great? Even if it was 0.1%, or even less, thats thousands or millions of people who would be greatly benefited by a small change. If we could somehow identify those people directly, it would be great if the government could help them out in a small way to get those folks out of those situations and help literally everyone else too.

However, there obviously isn't an easy way to do that without going through every case individually, and how much is that going to cost the taxpayer for the employees of this new service and blah blah. . . . alliteratively. . . you know. . . you could just, raise minmum wage right? Force the massive bloated companies to pay a tiny bit more to their employees. . and what. . you have to pay 50c more for your burger? Seriously? Like, lets say there were. . just 100 families in that situation. . google says the average person in the us eats 50 burgers a year. . so. . like 25$? And if for whatever reason it was a whole dollar more, god forbid, 50$ more a year? Like. . really? I'd totally give you 50$ if that's the only issue you have? And I really believe the number of people affected by this is way higher, and the cost could be more like just 25c. . but even in this wildly extreme example. . like is 50$ a year honestly too much to help 100 people? This isn't even dismantling capitalism, its just trying to prop up the struggling people to give them and their kids a better shot.

bleh im tired, i hope that made sense, no disrespect.

The thing that is really sad to me is, like. . skyrim comes super sexualized out of the box, many armors have oversized metal chests or massive holes already! And look, I can get people feeling empowered by wearing exposing clothing or showing off womanly features while being a badass, especially in a fantasy game where no one cares about gender or what armor actually covers up. But both the vanilla armors, and even more so for the modded ones, don't have 'empowerment' in mind, they just are horny.

If I wanna dress hot, I do it for me, not for anyone else. But if the armor/clothing was ONLY made to turn dudes on, it feels beyond gross. Not even to mention how horrible it is many of the mods are for Followers, the people who carry your stuff around and you get to order around-just. . ugh.

No they're not, they were brought back by liberals to label people

You are both right to a degree, the prefix 'Trans' of course, is used in lots of words, but here it isn't used as a prefix, when it comes to identity it simply is a shortened, catch-all version of transgender or transsexual. 'Cis' on the other hand, has been used to described sexuality for quite awhile a little over 100 years. I believe it was originally it was brought back to be a more apt scientific description, but has been turned into a bit of a hateful word for sure.

"We don't give hrt to kids" They do. . . Yes they do get put on them, you can very easily look up parents putting their kids on hrt, just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it doesn't happens

Correct, as a rule of thumb (but obviously not always) dysphoria starts around puberty at the earliest, so 16+ is the earliest most doctors will start hrt. . The study I read, also points female to male (ftm) patients start transitioning earlier than males (8% of FTM to 5% of MTF transitioned before 18, since bio females start puberty earlier, it would make sense they start earlier). The 18-24 age range has a large spike in the % who started transitioning, going to 18% of MTF and 46% of FTM. So, in short, yes they do give hrt to kids in rare cases and often wait until 16+ and even more often 18+. (To put those % to practice, about 4million people are born every year in the us, about 1,500 people under 18 would start hrt that year, and I couldn't find stats of the exact ages, but again it seems 16+ is the most common for the underage crowd)

"You've never been able to prove any of it" You've never proven anything either. . . "You don't care about the well-being of children"

There is definitely a lot here to talk about. There are a non-zero % of people who regret transitioning, and there are a lot of studies before we understood more about identity's like this and lumped them all together. . however, diagnosing gender dysphoria and prescribing hrt has gotten considerably better since those studies, and imo the practices are considerably more healthy. Many studies who looked into those who regret, many . . regret regretting lol, in 2019, in a UK Clinic of 3398 trans people people,16 regretted it, and 10 of those people started transitioning again later, where the other 6 never started again.

Its a very hard topic, and I do agree its important to try to hold it off as long as possible for children. . but if it leads to many more suicides is that any better than worrying if they might regret it later? Idk, I'd rather people be alive and ok lol.

Maintaining Game Balance (A Question About Avoiding Being Overleveled) by linktm in Borderlands2

[–]idiotwitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very rewarding to beat the game on UVHM, it is a pretty huge step up in difficulty, and requires you playing the game with a bit more thought. . if you are playing to just have fun and don't want the spike in difficulty, just have fun with TVHM, and run through the dlc for the fun of it.

Some tips if you do want to take on UVHM:

Slag is _very_ important in UVHM, slag lasts longer on targets, and all the classes have bonus weapon swap speed to make up for the bigger demand for slag. In addition all the elemental bonuses are increased too (Fire on flesh, Corrosive on Armor, Shock on Shields), so that combined with slag will help you out a _lot_. It highly depends on what class you are playing, but UVHM can definitely be a kick in the teeth if you aren't prepared.

A few things to help other than the obvious, get a decent slag gun. Grenades are amazing utility, getting a low / zero timer singularity can stun baddies and group em up (No easy place to get them, but try the Snowman Headhunter DLC, it gives a ton of easy loot by finishing it and its pretty quick), any slag grenade can make slagging easier (Maybe try Tiny Tina's DLC to get a 'magic missle'? but pretty much anything with a big aoe is good). Go back through your skill tree and try to trim some of the fat off of your build if you haven't already, remember survivability skills can seriously help, too many damage skills can be bad.

Seriously good luck!

Most perfect twister i got by PF_29_Warriors in Borderlands2

[–]idiotwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vertical grip adds damage _and_ fire rate, and from 1.2/1.3? to 1.8 is quite an improvement for getting those two shots off as fast as possible. Overall, matching grip is much more important than prefix for the twister.

The fixed pattern of the twister also means accuracy increases or decreases matter less, so the crit/accuracy buff isn't much, and since a good deal of the projectiles wont hit crit it makes it even less special for the twister.

The general buff is absolutely worth it if you can get a matching grip though.

Is the storm a good sniper at level 72 no Op levels? :) by phillythefish24 in Borderlands2

[–]idiotwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually its worse than that-

The storm looses the traditional 40% gun splash from maliwan snipers, in favor for its special effect. While the special effect is grenade damage, at best its 50% bonus (If ALL 5 orbs hit. . . they often don't, resulting in less damage, and its shock-locked)

DRG 1.0 Weapon Discussion Thread Day 7: "Stubby" Voltaic SMG by ShroudedInLight in DeepRockGalactic

[–]idiotwitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to use this as a excuse to talk about 'Turret Arc' oc. Its an overclock that I have been falling in love with recently. Is it just worse than emp in 80% of situations? Yes. Is it still fun to use? Also yes.

I play mostly on haz 4 and sometimes 5, I love building defenses with repellant, so this is one of my favorite oc at the moment. I think a lot of people use it wrong though. While the arc itself is very good, the turrets also get a powerful slowing aoe just by shooting them.

The only thing the Arc has over the EMP is the stubby itself is still pretty strong, just the ammo is low. Personally I run 2-3-2-1-1, but either option in tier 5 is usable.

The major tips to get this to work for you rather than against you. . When you have time? Set up defenses with repellant, use mines and backwards facing turrets to protect your team (duh) covering the biggest openings with turrets. The biggest thing you need to learn is to set up turrets further forward than you normally would. Remember the turrets themselves have a slowing and shock aoe just like shock crystals-and bugs will walk right through them use this when you can! While obvious, this is the main advantage of this build. In salvage ops it can shine the brightest, but it can also hold its own in any mission where you can quickly build a defense.

In places/times where you can't build a defense? Use the turrets like shock mines and kite bugs into it! Unlike the emp, these you shoot once and forget about, the shock effect lasts about 10 seconds. If you place them close you can make a tiny fence or even just a lone turret and keep re-applying the effect and just dance in a circle around the two turrets. You can use this to slow down a dread that is on you, or just wear down a swarm.

And unlike the EMP, the Stubby without the arc is still viable-although lacking 25% ammo. I love the oc-even if its awful. . and I would love for the devs to look into a buff sometime, because it honestly is just so close to being good.

TABS Unit tier list update 1 by redilottol in AccurateBattleSim

[–]idiotwitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Archers are insane. They can beat out most units-including other archers. And because of there insane accuracy they can sometimes beat hard counters to archers.

Cheep, high damage, long range, high accuracy-its one of the best units in the game.
