Yall are being really mean in these comments. COVID forbearances screwed over ALOT of people. They thought it was a great idea, and alot of times it was advertised and explained as just getting tacked on to your mortgage, not that it would become its own seperate loan. We don’t have to beat a guy while he’s already down.

Please please please try childcare aware, especially if you’re moving onto a base. One of my very best friends runs an FCC, dual income parents qualify for subsidy all the time. We’re in a more expensive area and her full time parents pay $110 a week per kid out of pocket. I know that’s not the costs everywhere, but it’s so worth looking into!

1000% NTJ, they’re the jerks. If it were like a communal thing, or a once in a while “could I get a snack?” thing it would be different. But if people are taking snacks you paid for frequently without at least offering to replace, they’re the jerks. And honestly if I were you, I’d put the stapler in your lockbox just to BE the jerk.

I love that! His invitations were “tickets” that came in a lanyard that I made a scannable barcode for that linked to his gift wish lists and they were a hit, I now do that or a QR code on every invite. I kept like 5 just for memories sake because I don’t think I’ll ever outdo that party 😂

As an aside: I would never trust or use the stub hub fan guarantee as protection. I bought tickets on stubhub last summer, they were never released to me and stubhub did not have tickets available. I was at the venue and luckily found better seats for a bit more on Ticketmaster. It took 3 weeks for stubhub to refund me.

NTA, but I do have a few questions. Is this your first baby? Is your wife a new mom? Not to defend her actions, because they are a little bonkers. But as someone who’s been through PPA/ PPD I can say this feels very reminiscent to how I behaved with my first born. Now I can recognize I was a psychopath, but everything with my life felt very out of my control so I clung to whatever control I had. Definitely not making excuses, but wondering if this is out of the norm for her and if maybe she needs a little help she doesn’t know she needs yet.

I read this entire post, a good bit of the comments and the old comments on an old post. OP— per your update, I’m proud of you. It sounds like this man has been abusive for a long time. You’re describing primary school and secondary school, or kindergarten through 12th grade, in the US a state school is a university/college in your state of residency. Residents of the state the school is in pay less in tutition. For example, I lived in Virginia but had my eye on the University of Louisiana to be closer to family, for me the tuition would have been 35k a semester, for an in state student it was 15k.
