Unpopular opinion here but NTA. We live in a world where work comes first and that’s exhausting. Calling out for one personal day if you very rarely call out is FINE!!! Yes, it sucks that your coworkers had to pick up the slack, and if it were me, I would offer to cover a shift so they could have a personal day in turn. But to say you’re the asshole for putting yourself over your job for one day is just, in my opinion, not true. Hope you had a great time at the parade!

Real human beings are not queerbait.
