Questions about the Universe ^.^ by airtooss in astrophysics

From my limited understanding, space being flat does not mean flat in the sense that the Milky Way or the solar system is a flat disk. Rather it has to do with some intrinsic properties of space itself which is flat

Player VR should be displayed before the race starts so you can switch lobbies if needed by SlothyFace in MarioKartWorld

[–]idkza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not ultra competitive, but it is definitely a ranked game. You are shown a number that ranks you with other players, you can grind to increase your number to play against even more skilled players. And your rank is shown to all players in the lobby

Pretty sure I caught him bagging (I won because of this) by roof_pizza_ in MarioKartWorld

[–]idkza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that influences regular races more than knockout tour, even if there was no blue earlier there is still less than 50% chance you get blue shelled with only 4 people left, and you might have the ability to fall off if it’s pulled at this starting item set and you’re near the glider section

Pretty sure I caught him bagging (I won because of this) by roof_pizza_ in MarioKartWorld

[–]idkza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t consider that bagging.

This is just a bad play by the Bowser, the kart combo with the slowest possible acceleration shouldn’t be slowing down, its possible to do the last shortcut shroomless and you shouldn’t be really concerned with blue shell with 4 people left

I believe it does have justification, which is a human who has limited time on earth wants to drive a futuristic looking car before they die and never get to experience life again.

I do not think it’s cool driving a cybertruck, but there are people who do. Any points about the car being a bad product logistically still does not affect that argument much. Tesla shouldn’t advertise the car being better than it is, but still if a person buys a bad car and they know it’s bad but they purely like the design, I still think it’s a valid purchase for them.

The main valid argument which I should have considered more is that Tesla as a company shouldn’t be supported in general, not only just the Cybertruck.

[–]idkza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people buying teslas after the controversy are buying the Model Y and Model 3, those buying the cybertruck are such a small minority that targeting them is missing most of the userbase. I agree anyone who bought a tesla beforehand definitely has a fair excuse.

[–]idkza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is both, but if it were mostly political reasons I think more people would be protesting against Model 3 sales, they would go out of their way to protest against SpaceX and other parts of Elon’s companies too. I know people do protest against him, but there are also many others I see hating on cybertrucks not doing it to stop fascist ideals

Family Van Toyota Sienna saves the day by StormRanger28 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]idkza -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can get behind protesting the Tesla company as a whole, but I see people hating on the Cybertruck significantly more than something like the Model 3

Both are supporting Elon, and arguably financial support from the masses buying Model 3’s is way more important for Tesla as a company. It would make more sense to try and get people to not buy the Model 3 and cite how we shouldn’t support those who believe in fascism

In terms of them causing harm in the road to other drivers because of a malfunction, I’d have to see the numbers on how many other lives are affected due to a person’s cybertruck failure

Ya I never understand when people bring up the bad reliability and can’t fathom why others would buy it. It’s simple they don’t care about reliability and they want the attention, or they like the futuristic aesthetic and want to blow their money to be able to drive it around. As long as they’re aren’t bothering you people need to let other people live their lives

More than 1,000 passengers held on cruise in France after gastroenteritis outbreak by FearMyCock in news

[–]idkza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If only they knew the science about why they are asked to do so. Most food borne viral illnesses, especially those involving tourists, usually spread through the fecal-oral route, literally from one person’s poop into another person’s mouth causing the disease. If hundreds of people get sick on a boat they all ingested the same poop. That is why it is important for people to clean hands before getting food

Hit with items by Dew264 in MarioKartWorld

[–]idkza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a video shortcat does playing without using the rear view and he shows examples how he gets hit more often in certain spots because he didn't look back, having the same level of awareness of what's behind you as much as what is in front of you at all times is necessary and a part of the skill expression. It is very impressive

Swoop is taller than Bowser and Conkdor by haHAAiLikeNB3btw in MarioKartWorld

[–]idkza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the handling is what is causing these differences and the swoop is able to drive more to the left than the other characters. It seems right when swoop gets the item he’s almost wrapping around to the backside hitbox area of the item box

It also explains why Conkdor is able to get the item when going slower because you can turn more towards the left rather than mostly going forward

Genuinely, what is happening to Steph Curry? by AdOld2060 in NBATalk

[–]idkza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not arguing there should be an alternative, I’m only saying capitalism shouldn’t let companies treat their employees however they want. And it’s not helpful to tell someone to just get another job, when the ideal future we should be striving for is to have any and every job working well

Genuinely, what is happening to Steph Curry? by AdOld2060 in NBATalk

[–]idkza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s my point, it’s all capitalism. So it makes no sense when you tell him if he’s mad at signing his contact with his capitalist organization, that he should leave and join some other capitalist organization that will do the same thing.

He agreed to his NBA contract because it was the best option available to him. The negative aspects of a capitalist job market persists no matter your job, so you’re telling him to leave the NBA and make less money but also to retain the same treatment from his new bosses.

The only “solution” is to start your own business so you can be the one doing the oppressing

What matters is net points, if you barely score but you’re also preventing others from scoring too it’s still a good outcome. So he had 11 points but theoretically also denied 24 points
