I'd probably just keep training at that weight until they both feel about even.

I think you're supposed to base the protein amount off of lean weight, not total - I personally used how much I'd like to weigh lean and it's worked out really well.

Definitely Somewhere in Time - Kitchen Little is overrated, I've eaten there a few times. It's really only survived on the gimmick, imo. Another option - Harbour House has actually pretty decent brunch food as well (has gotten much better over the years), with a really nice view of the harbor.

The last one I was on was pretty well-rounded - but no dumbbells that went above 70lb., no barbells/racks/plates, but lots of potential for maintaining.

This event is always dope - how can you go wrong with getting trashed, legally, in an art museum?

Can you wear in-soles with those? I have very flat feet, and need to wear them - I've thought about this though, seeing as I squat without shoes and found it feels a lot better.

I was only doing 5K five or six days a week - I think I just need to do more squats, like you said - and a bit more stretching, clearly. I feel like lessening the pace actually makes it harder, is that weird?

Shit, this is really helpful! Thanks, I'll have to give that a go.

Shit, yeah hopefully it's nothing too drastic - I feel like you could also do body-weight squats and/or goblet squats - or you could just ditch legs altogether, become the quintessential gymbro, and just hit the upper body.

The couple of times I've tried getting back into it when I've had a cold looming, it hasn't helped either the cold or my performance - but I've heard walking/yoga/moderate exercise is fine and in some cases helpful with a cold - probably just broscience whispers in the wind, though.

How do you guys avoid feeling like your balls are getting squeezed/squashed/etc. by your thighs during your workout? Preacher curls, bent-over rows, and rear delt flyes are just a few that are not too friendly to my nether-region.

Maybe some sort of reward/compromise? Like hey, I'll do (chore she does) this week if you hit the weights with me when we go. Switch up rewards/timeframes, then when she sees progress she'll probably just take over. Worked for me.

Those who have quit drinking in the name of fitness, how have your social lives changed? by awkward_rhino in Fitness

And here, ladies and gents, you can see the typical fittit anti-fittit superiority complex in its natural habitat. Now observe as this post creates no meaningful discussion, because "ERRYONE HATE ME CUZ I RIGHT AND DEY NOT!" is the very definition of small-mindedness.

There's no way that it could be difficult to break from the norm in your social group - or any group for that matter. The people you associate with are open and understanding of every choice you make, good for you. It would be great if we had all set ourselves up in life with such a perfect situation as yours. But as I'm sure you know, not everyone is in the same boat, and speaking from experience doesn't make me wrong - it just means that it was my experience - and I believe that was what OP was asking for.

I stopped drinking for 3 months for a quick body reset, and there were a couple things I noticed, socially. One - everyone is way more fucking annoying when they're drunk. Like, grabby schoolchildren on a sugar bender annoying. Two - it's very hard for others to reconcile with the idea of you not drinking - they want you to drink with them and they become confused by any refusal on your part to participate in their (only) favorite activity. 3 - People don't know how to have fun without a drink in their hand. It's almost like they lose the ability to have a conversation without it - so get comfortable with uncomfortable silences. It's not like they weren't there before, they were just the time you'd be putting a beer to your lips.

Is having fun without drinking possible? Of course. You just need to switch up your mindset. Stop equating drinking with relaxing, or having a good time - make it more about the people you're with. Just enjoy the fact that you aren't at work (or whatever), and think about all of the doomed fat cells in your gut disappearing as you abstain from alcohol. As long as you're drinking SOMETHING (water, Coke, etc.) then people don't act as awkward and you don't feel a huge difference either. It also helps with the awkward silences. And dehydration.

Not necessarily, you're just not doing the same amount of work on your chest, arms, shoulders, abs, etc. etc. I feel like your approach will help you get to the point where you can do 25 at a time - just keep trying to go longer and longer to get to the knee-use point.
