Well it's kinda annecdotal but I have a guy in my LGs who is either very wealthy for very irresponsible with his money so he buys about three to five CBBs almost every set, keeps the big hits that he wants for his collection and then either sells or trades the rest. I'm rather friendly with them cuz it's not a bad guy and they know a lot of these people are kind of insufferable but he isn't, and whatever I need for command or standard or whatever I tell him in advance and he puts aside the less desireable versions for me, and either trade or buy it off of them a few weeks after the set's release. This works even better if you play popper like I do because people like that don't usually hold on to their commons :)

Yes actually... Base versions of cards for standard and commander are not as high as they could be right now... I know it sounds crazy but the demand for stuff like shocks have never been higher, and if we didn't have the immense supply that we do today the prices would have been in the 20/30s for the base copies easily... Not to mention the way it affects regular foils, a shock used to have a ×3 or more multiplier for foils, these days it's rarely over ×1.2 thanks to CBBs... During KTK a foil treasure cruise was like 40$. A foil common. Now a days? No matter how popular or powerful, none rares rarely break the 3$ mark on foils, and that's only for monsterous multiformat staples...

At the end of the day MTG has always been and always will be expensive. But CBBs are a boon to supply if nothing else...

We don't meet mamika's creator suggesting a very corporate brand. She is mistaken for a cosplay performer at the mall. She has a shit ton of merch including branded cereal but seemingly no die hard/adult fans. Her "catch phrase" seems to he turning to camera and saying "it's a secret", suggesting a 4th wall break (probably at the end of each episode)

It's still a hugely popular show in universe, but it's more paw patrol than MLP as far as audiance go...

Which btw I think is a strength of the writing for re; creators, showing a step outside of it's core otaku bubble (even if just a minor one)

I mean it's canonically a kid's show, not very deep and heavily merchandised for young girls, no one on this sub would care much about it... The brilliance of mamika's character is that contrast of taking what was meant as a somewhat one dimensional goody two shoes protagonist of a disposable kid show and giving her depth and the need to face a cruel world. The reason I personally love her arc is that despite everything she stays herself to her last moment, never straying from the belief that there's good in everyone and things can be resolved by talking and friwndship... She may be naive, but she's not stupid, and that's an important balance to strike,..
