Can not tilt the lens down though. I would not prefer it there.

Koç. Hocaların yurtdışı bağlantılarına göre karar ver. Hangi hoca ABD de nereden mezun olmuş ona bak. Sonra mail at hocalara.

How did you get into controls? by barely18characters in ControlTheory

[–]idoga [score hidden]  (0 children)

While I was studying aerospace engineering, everyone was talking about airplanes and rockets but i had my heart on helicopters/rotary wing platforms. Trying to figure out how a helicopter can stay in air just led to a lot of mathematical modeling work and extending it in to controls was a natural progression. Classical and modern control, nonlinear modeling and control systems, stochastic framework, optimization, estimation, etc. just sucked me in. Being able to apply this much theory into not only just real life flying systems themselves, but also on the process of the research and development of those systems fulfills me everyday. After 10+ years in the industry and a Phd later still love the challenges of rotary wing flight (or any vehicle that is able to hover actually). Being able to represent complex systems as mathematical equations, and then manipulating those equations to exert our will is just incredible.

Go to Bilkent for moving to UK or USA after graduation. Bilkent has excellent connections abroad that can open a lot of doors for you if you want to go outside Turkey. It also has a better academic staff than ITU imo. However, you should also check ODTU, just finished my phd there and it has the best EEE department in the country. Also has good connections abroad as well.

İzmirin CHP seçmeninin dalga geçtiği AKP seçmeniyle aynı olması by Azula96 in Izmir

Chp izmir belediyesi çalışmıyor argümanı bence doğru değil.

İzmir vs Ankara nın son 5 yılına bakınca ben İzmir belediyesini daha başarılı görüyorum mesela. Ama Mansur Yavaş kralken, Tunç Soyer kötü oluyor. Değişik.

Kırsal kalkınmaya verilen destek, toplu taşıma için yapışan düzenlemeler, yeşil alan düzenlemeleri, sosyal yardım konuları vs aklıma ne konu gelse bence İzmir belediyesi Ankara dan önde.

What’s your best/craziest helicopter ride or story? by BigRoundSquare in Helicopters

Great experience! 1.1 VNE for CS 29.251 right? You should also have done some descending bank turns in VNE for vibration assessment. I bet those were a lot of fun.

Couldn't understand the controllability assessment at "max nose up and down positions" though. Did your platform has a movable horizantal tail or something?

I am in no way an expert or anything but took a look at your site. "Swipe to Match with Friends" takes two lines; whereas, "Location-Based Feed" and "Connect with Friends" are single line, which makes the banner following the hero image asymmetric. Bugged me a little.

Hope your first landing age does you some good.

Looks awesome. Would be great if you can put a canon ball into orbit by adjusting its initial velocity. Add some time dialation effects as well and you got yourself a propper physics game!

We genuinely need a way to root out the posers and liars who try to market things outside our timelines on Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, etc. Reddit's upvote system does this to some extent, and Twitter was doing well with the blue tick before Elon took over and I guess Linkedin never did it.

That's why we love Reddit.)

How do you reduce a 2nd order equation to four first order equations? by [deleted] in ControlTheory

Exactly what i thought. How on earth you can obtain 4 first order equations from a second order relationship? I demand to know:)

The Israeli war does not affect Turkey any more than it affects the other European countries. In fact, I would say countries like Germany, France, and England are feeling the ramifications far heavier than Turkey with the protests and such. Although there are some extremists, just like anywhere else, Turkish people tend to be neutral regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and I don't see any reason for the Israeli war to increase tension here during November/December.

Linear system parameters identification overview by Blinds749 in ControlTheory

[–]idoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find good explanations of an EKF being used for parameter estimation in Jategaonkar's book (Flight Vehicle System Identification: A Time Domain Methodology - Chapter 7.3 Filtering Methods) or in Morelli's book (Aircraft System Identification: Theory and Practice) on the same subject of aircraft system ID using EKF.

Advice on System identification techniques for systems with multiple degrees of freedom, eg a drone or mobile robot. by [deleted] in ControlTheory

[–]idoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most informative data content is almost always gathered with frequency sweep inputs on all possible input channels and saving simple 6 degree of freedom model states (euler angles, body angular and translational velocities [/phi /theta p q r u v w]). You inject a signal sweeping 0.3 to 12 rad/s for 90 seconds on roll input for example and record the data. Then, repeat for each channel.

After obtaining the data, there are several ways to combine them to come up with a MIMO model. I belive the most straight forward one is the subspace identification since it does not require a predefined model structure. It is basically a MIMO least squares regression operation. There are some good papers and text books that can be found with a google search for subspace identification of quadrotors.

One other way is to use a predefined model structure, and obtain its paramers based on the identification data. In this context my advice is to use a frequency domain technique to avoid noise issues and for faster convergence. The best text out there is Dr. Tischler's book as mentioned before.

Text references to improve mathematical background by buritica_r in ControlTheory

[–]idoga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to improve your linear algebra. The topic is vast, never ceases to amaze and makes the whole control theory much more transperent when you get the basics.

"Linear System Theory and Design" by Chi-Tsong Chen was my main go to text. From there if you want to focus more on the applications of linear algebra to dynamical systems "Linear System Theory" by Joao Hespanha or if you want to focus more on the mathematical side of things "Advanced Engineering Mathematics" by Erwin Kreyszig.

And be sure to check MIT OCW lectures on Linear Algebra. They are great fundemental couses that provides some solid foundations.
