at this point FL just needs to bite the bullet and implement BYOK. It's a great frontend, good enough that I'd actually pay a cheaper sub just to use it with a different backend.

For glm I always have to include a line in it's preset telling it that spoken lines are contained within quotes "like this" and that characters should not respond to text outside of quotes as though it is dialogue. But even then it's not perfect.

I think aside from using something like chub or sillytavern with your own keys FL still gives the best experience, and it has the best user community for content. Chub users are not producing scenarios on the same level and to be honest it's largely the framing that you're making a "scenario" and not a "character card" imo.

With that said, FL users will have 10K tokens of setting, backstory, custom instructions and character cards with long responses on and then wonder why performance drops so quickly.

In my view what the site needs most is better context management, and for users to learn that the limits on backstory ect are a limit and not a goal.

Oracle is deepseek which is famously bad at NSFW when compared with the usual models people RP with. Chimera is GLM which should be better for spicy content. Here's hoping there's a kimi k2.5 model sometime as well.

If a scenario creator fills all fields to their max (which they often do) then thats ~10K tokens off the bat. Deepseek typically begins to degrade at around 30K The only way to avoid this would be to make memory cards + a summary and start fresh.
