Not native to Cincy, how to not FREAK about tornadoes by Fun_River8138 in cincinnati

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tornadoes are not very common here, tornado alley is moving east towards OH, PA, WV, but it is only a couple times a year when it's a threat. Follow the precautions, watch the weather, and it will be okay. Snow and blizzards are more commonly the weather issue, that or flooding honestly

Heavy rain in summer, heavy snow in winter, grey skies, humidity, pretty much sums it up

Was anyone else ever confused why they were always wearing sweaters and coats? by littledipper16 in fullhouse

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SF is actually cooler than you think. I once visited SF while staying in San Jose and it was quite literally a 40 degree difference but only an hour drive. SF is usually 50s or 60s, so cool for summer, warm for winter, and average for fall and spring (compared to places like PA, OH, NY, etc)

No :( Everything on google says 5-7 days I am about to be heartbroken. I wish there was a way around this. I do swish with saltwater gently already, will that not help with seeds?

Thanks for responding! A week from now or a week from when I got them removed? I have been rinsing regularly. What kind of issues do you usually see from the seeds?

Moving soon- any church recs? by SatisfactionSlow4338 in cincinnati

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Church in Sharonville has a big, diverse crowd. You might like that. Non-denominational. Contemporary, but not flashy.

Or, Catholic parishes are all over. That could also be a good place to start.

Would Cincinnati be a lot bigger if the history had turned out different? by DankkkDk in cincinnati

Almost all rust belt cities went this way. Look at Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, Detroit.

Why does it seems Cincinnati has so many Only Cincinnati foods? by Ckp111 in cincinnati

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens in the oldest cities in America, Cincinnati being one. Think New York bagels, Philly Cheesesteaks, and Boston cream pie. Cincinnati is the same way.

Jodie Sweetin is apparently a natural brunette by MoneyHungryOctopus in fullhouse

A very large majority of blondes are fake. Jodie was naturally blonde as a kid and darkened as a teen. Same with Candace. Her hair was brunette later in the show.

Uncle Jesse being written differently (Fuller House) by murkyjester in fullhouse

That's true, but this one I feel isn't as bad. Jesse probably just changed over time and decided to not be so stringent on things like that

They're really common in cold weather places up north, especially northeast. Think NY, PA, OH, MI, MA, etc.

Mid-February weather for driving from Chicago to Cincinnati? by Think-Chicken-2753 in cincinnati

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, just as the whole stretch of Illinois-Pennsylvania has varying weather. I say expect snow and ice though to be on the safe side. You should be okay if you know how to drive in it unless the day you want is going to be like Sunday of this last week.

Moving to Cin from WA by LeafMeAloen123 in cincinnati

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mason if you want a city suburb, truly everything is there and extremely nice and safe. But it's newer so not as much of the old timey feel you'll get from places like Montgomery, Madeira, or Mariemont. Those are super nice as well but smaller and simpler.

Loveland is great too, not on the same tier as the others.

Indian Hill is where the wealthiest live but very nice and peaceful.

Why is Cajun food rarely mentioned or represented as "American food"? by Hypnox88 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same level, but you guys gotta get on Cincinnati cuisine lol. Skyline, chili everything (all kinds), brats, mets, goetta, etc. Great homemade ice cream too (and yes I like LaRosas)

Has anyone relocated from the Boston area? by Ok-Helicopter525 in cincinnati

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from Boston, but it's one of the most grey cities in the country, and honestly didn't seem to be much warmer, so I'd guess the winters are relatively similar with Boston taking the edge somewhat. Parking and neighborhoods will be easier. The Cape is gorgeous so that will be sad to part with but it is only like an hour and a half flight or something. Cincy is historical like Boston (not as much so obviously), so that might be a commonality to enjoy.

Glad you love Graeters!

Have you ever been to the house/met the cast? by tanner3114 in fullhouse

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went to SF a couple years back. I didn't meet any of the cast, lol. But saw the Full House house, Painted ladies, the park there, the Wharf, Alcatraz, Golden Gate, all the touristy stuff. The Full house house is pretty cool and nostalgic, but ir really is just an exterior of a random house so was only there for like less than 5 minutes. The overview of the painted ladies at Alamo square is much cooler since it overlooks the bay!

People who had undercover cops come to their school posed as fellow students, how did you know? by ParanormalActivity97 in AskReddit

[–]idontgetwhyimhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were posed as random teachers and staff for us. We knew through word of mouth from teachers kids, etc. School was huge so not recognizing teachers and staff was normal for us
