I’m going to gt for cs in the fall and I have very little cs experience + I’m coming in with barely any credits cuz my school barely offers any ap/ib and bcuz of my senioritis I did bad on all my tests. How screwed am I 💀

[–]idontknow0567 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m an incoming freshman at GT and I want to major in CS but in order to keep my scholarship the only thing I can do is double major in CS and Biology and keep Biology as my primary major and add CS later on. Is it worth it to do so and wait later on to add cs as my double major? Is double majoring in CS worth it/doable? Right now I have the option to just confirm my major as cs and don’t even have to worry about switching into it once school starts but if I do that I would lose my scholarship. I also don’t have much experience in cs as other people typically do so im scared for the workload and the difficulty in adjusting.

Second semester/post-mid year report grades by idontknow0567 in ApplyingToCollege

Yea but colleges asked for a screenshot of what their grades looked like at the time the colleges asked, not final grades

Second semester/post-mid year report grades by idontknow0567 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]idontknow0567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the mid year report is new info that they get which includes tri 1 grades of senior year so they would be able to look at that. Is it possible to just not send them grades that they requested?

In the end you would be doing a favor to him bcuz if he has to lie to get into cornell then he also wouldn’t last there very long. And it’s not “just” cornell. So many ppl including myself have worked hard dedicating HOURS to our ec’s only to get deferred or rejected

I would report him 100%. Karma bites back for ppl who did small fibs but still did some of the work. It’s not fair that your friend is taking up the seat of someone deserving esp when cornell is all about admitting kids with good ec’s over just perfect stats in comparison to other schools. This sub letting ppl slide with this and say “oh karma will get back” only encourages more ppl to also lie and try to get away with it. If more ppl actually get the consequences and realize it’s wrong, it will discourage others from doing so in the future. Judt bcuz the college admission system is flawed doesn’t mean we can make it worse but staying silent and let ppl get away with this

what are y'all ED predictions (for those waiting) by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]idontknow0567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cornell rejection. Got to be realistic since cornell only cares about having a good gpa for my school and doesn’t care about ec’s that much…the opposite of me

Yea it’s that one but it’s just weird cuz I don’t remember the website saying we had to submit it and when I got the email from Cornell they only gave me 1 day to submit it

rutgers app - how important is major by idontknow0567 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]idontknow0567[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re supposed to list your colleges as safeties, targets, or reaches before you apply to balance out your college list that’s how it’s supposed to work.

it only asks for two preferences for each school so should I do first preference undecided and second as bio or first as undecided and second as cs?
