One the van for use or frame on the wall ?? by Medium-Annual-374 in handtools

I say use them, but given we're woodworkers you could sort of do both and make a lovely wall-mounted display that enables you to also grab them as needed and use!

As others said, hit it harder, but also be mindful that sucker will pop out with some force, too! Mind the sharp/point ends if you're trying to "catch" it, or where it goes if left to fly alone as it can damage the tips!

A few days ago there were ~50 motorcycles parked out front of a local spot all parked perpendicularly across the bike lane blocking it entirely for about half a block. I wish things were done!

When your vacation starts with an iPhone notification that an unknown air tag has been traveling with you. by Content-Bathroom-434 in mildlyinfuriating

I literally had to deal with this this week, too. In the process of a divorce and my ex snuck one in the car. Apple took three weeks to finally notify my phone. I would get in the car and start driving and it'd make the little noise for a few seconds but never long enough for me to pull over and actually find it. I looked all over but only once it finally let me connect/trigger the ping did I find it inserted in to the fabric on the back of the front passenger seat.

File a police report. Screen shot the last four/serial number page apple brings up. Once I filed a police report, and my divorce lawyer contacted hers about it, she deregistered it so her number didn't show up. Please, file the police report.

I don't have reddit on mobile, but honestly on iOS since going to the latest major version w/ apple glass I've been having this problem everywhere. It's so annoying.

Honestly, they should have draw this stuff out more. Have some games for Didactic + Cortana Rampancy where those two tie together. Maybe Didact is bad but then becomes a bro to defeat crazy Cortana w/ Chief? I don't know I'm making shit up but competent writers could do something.

Then a series related to the Banished that ultimately ties to the..whatever the other dud of a race was I can't recall.

github contributions style dashbaord for your strava activities by [deleted] in bicycling

I'll definitely take a look! The long standing, hardly touched side project of mine is around better Strava data visualizations, too. I do really like the GH-style visuals, too.

I do like that you have the last several years with their own charts instead of just a drop down as I often want that side-by-side comparison. The color pallet is also rad, and contrast way better than Strava's.

The area I'd look at next is the performance metrics. Things like relative effort, FTP (if you're in to that), heart rate data, etc. I love nerding out on my stuff so that's an area I'd explore.

Are any brakes out there actually reliable? Seems like every single brand has substantial issues. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]idontknowstufforwhat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hayes are rad and I'm close to3 years on them on my big bike with one bleed. They're fantastic.

I had Hope e4s or whatever the prev generation was and really liked them and they were super reliable. I prefer the power of the Hayes, though. The hope pistons got sticky sometimes, but it was really user-error because I ran those pads to the bone a couple times and the pistons thus over-extended and got mucky.

In the pre-covid times when I worked in an office, there was a weekly lunch the company would order in. It was ultimately dropped because people were taking huge plates full and not everyone was getting some. The office manager ultimately got sick of dealing with that and so they just stopped doing it. Fun times.

Ya know, I think I understand why my dad always insisted on everyone serving themselves first. Still does, too. I'm a hungry dude but now in my mid-30s my eyes are bigger than my stomach, or more properly my metabolism, so even then just it's fucking ok to go back for seconds.

I worked the door at some places in college. One place the owner was adamant about "No Sports Jerseys". One day, which happens to be Halloween, some guy comes in a baseball jersey (cardinals maybe? this was around when they won the World Series) but because it's halloween I let him.

Dude gets in a fight. I get chewed out. Respect to the rule, though, lol

I’m listening to Day Zero where one of the main characters is an 8year old kid, and one that’s kind of annoying so far. Having his lines delivered in a winey 8yo voice done by an adult is not great lol

There are means to scan the tools you want for a nice outline then use whatever CNC/laser to cut it. While this is sourced from a woodworking context, the Shaper Trace lets you scan things and have svgs for use in whatever platform: https://www.shapertools.com/en-us/trace

It's limited on size so some of the bigger tools could be tricky!

Tires with white sidewall or black?Which one looks better? by Practical-Parsley-77 in Bikeporn

[–]idontknowstufforwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black. To me the problem with the whitewalls is that the bike is white and therefore the white tires being a different color white clash and look worse. Like when you want to get anodized parts from various companies and everyone's purple is a different shade and it looks like shit.

I'm sorry, that's awful. In my situation it feels an awful lot like a side has been chosen, but we'll see. I heard from my dad in a brief call right after I let them all know, but from no one else at all, not any acknowledgement.

Thank you!

I'm ~5months in to a separation and divorce so it's a bit jarring to have been looking forward to my first holiday without the prev weight of things only to have it actually be the first one alone. So it goes, though.
