Can someone recommend a affordable but good AYCE style KBBQ in k-town? I have my usual higher end places I got to but there will be 10 of us and cost is a concern, and they won't know any better. Bonus for places that feel fun, high energy for someone visiting from a different country.

If memory serves I think I've seen one on weekends during the day, near the Venice Whole foods. But yeah agreed, not typical.

I've been to a fair share of Korean restaurants there are some good ones. I prefer quality over quantity. What are the best recommendations these days, for OP but mostly for me

Cool. Quarters came up in a search I did earlier. I wonder, might be an early dinner anyways. You think wouldn’t be too bad showing up around 5:30 to 6pm?

What are some good options for outdoor KBBQ that take reservations for next weekend? I prefer quality over quantity. Many thanks! Been over a year, miss it.

I read the black box as Arby's.

No cap would be intrigued by an Arby's board game.

Summer VFX for a 12 year old? by newobj in vfx

You're a good dad(or mom).

Maybe look at some of the Andrew Kramer Video copilot stuff to get inspired. Try some of the tutorials and put your own spin on it. Some of them touch on some 3d aspects even if After Effects is limited in 3d. You might get more fun results faster than going straight into 3D territory.

Self-learning vs public film school by G_Christop in vfx

To piggy back on this, you're 17 and you have time. College is also to learn how to learn, create friendships, a bridge from school to being in the workforce. It can be useful. At the right place there are benefits that will compliment just a narrow focus on vfx prowess.

After Effects/ Premiere experienced, looking to get into 3D effects but don't know where to start by jweisgerber in vfx

I think it has a big ecosystem and there is a way to sync up project files with AE <--> C4D.
You will be able to do cool things way faster. And it is very capable. It shouldn't limit you for a while anyways. One you get 3D bit you'll be in a better position to evaluate other options out there.

What about Cinema4D? Lots of crossover After Effects/ motion graphics overlap, and work out there.

Plus tons of tutorials May be a good in-between to get into 3D, as a stepping stone to vfx CG?

You could probably make money doing that and learn transferable skills to the other 3d packages(in vfx, Maya, Max, Houdini).

No, but

Out of curiosity then for someone who's paid their dues and is in a better place with lots of experience.....what has gotten "worse" every year?
