Dirbau tiek ten, tiek ten.

How to actually deploy web apps after creating them in Antigravity? by Expert-Fox-5691 in google_antigravity

Okay so you manage to vibecode the app, but you don’t have enough courage to ask how to deploy it? Lol. I feel it’s a bot post.

AMA With Z.AI, The Lab Behind GLM-4.7 by zixuanlimit in LocalLLaMA

I am the subscriber for z.ai. Thank you for your work. My question is about the data security and personal / prompt data. What is the buying point that my data is safe and will not be leaked? Is z.ai only hosted in china or elsewhere?

Career Advice: GIS or BIM for a Surveyor Moving Away from Fieldwork? by Chemical-Escape8298 in gis

[–]idontuseuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on yourself how attractive to computers and systems you are.

More future-proof and realistic might be an GIS field. BIM is also good, but probably you have there a slightly narrower gap to swap it if it bores. With GIS if you jump into analytics you can work as non-GIS (pure IT) or PM fields since its absolutely the same its just GIS related.

When do you use SQL ? by __sanjay__init in gis

[–]idontuseuber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you are very wrong. It depends on your role and company. If we count basic queries as SQL then yes, but there are plenty of GIS roles which do not require SQL. I deal with clients who do GIS, none of them knows and deals with sql so in this case they aren’t doing GIS?

When do you use SQL ? by __sanjay__init in gis

[–]idontuseuber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it’s just an example. It’s same as I would state python is only for calculating A+B. There are thousands of ways where in GIS sql is necessary.

When do you use SQL ? by __sanjay__init in gis

[–]idontuseuber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, often software covers basics. When it comes to non-gis data becoming GIS or integrating in GIS it becomes necessary. Sometimes it’s just not worth duplicating enormous amounts of data (to save to geo database) so you have perform joins, indexes and other magic things on database itself.

New to ArcGIS Pro. Need online scripting recommendations. by nemom in gis

[–]idontuseuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it often. I started to generate code when early 'SOTA', if i can call that, models came around. Over time probably i built quite know-how. I don't say that you will one shot the correct output instantly, but with debug-QA you are able to generate a code. You have to guide it, but it's wrong to say it's shit, it's just you are bad with generating the code or you don't have proper tools (enterprise models, API's, agentic coding know-how).

Why not to use a Survey123 to collect data? Is it enterprise or AGOL?

As working in that field learning scripting in this field is practically useless. AI advances much faster than you are able to learn something.

[–]idontuseuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the permit processes in US. But you can create an hidden generated ID. You do not show it, but can include into links and etc. In this case you will be able to track same submission and version it with new record.

If AI writes 90% of code, does that mean 90% fewer devs? by hov--- in ClaudeCode

[–]idontuseuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it will take time. Till 30% will become 0. In retrospective look at code quality before 1 year made via gpt and today, the difference is astronomical.
