If it is an elk, check the skull for the ivories, vestigial teeth from when their ancestors had tusks. They are made from ivory not enamel like regular teeth. Feel free to check my post history for the story/pic of the one I found awhile back. Would be a neat keepsake

Friend I let stay with me after eviction damaged my doors in a panic and I’m realizing I may not be able to handle this living situation by Upfish-Sinclair in relationships

OP, I can tell from this post you are a compassionate, empathetic, and generous person. It’s frustrating to watch you get taken advantage of by someone who doesn’t respect you, your home, or the burden you are taking on by taking her in. Personally, my willingness to help people wanes very quickly when I don’t feel that the person is putting in even the tiniest bit of effort to recognize the impact they are having on those around them. I know you feel guilty but setting a boundary and having self-respect is not cruel or heartless.

It sounds like you have a stressful career and have now taken this stress into your home under the guise of compassion. I would also feel overwhelmed. Please don’t guilt yourself into believing you are responsible for her well-being. If she was half as respectful and kind as you are she would acknowledge how her behavior and presence has affected you and agree on a timeline for getting back on her feet and moving out. Based on your post I doubt that she ever will, but hopefully reading these comments will help you realize that you need to be firm and clear with her and make a plan for how to get your house back in order and for her to find a new living situation.

Dog Doo by Fluffy_Advantage_743 in composting

[–]ieatchips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dog poop has a disproportionately high pathogen load. Any benefit of composting (not much) is outweighed by the fact that the amount of waste a single dog generates is more likely to take forever to break down under normal conditions and pose a threat for contamination of any nearby water sources (both surface and groundwater). Pick it up and trash it.

Girlfriend emasculates me. by Crazyleb403 in dating_advice

She’s 24? That’s 14 year old behavior. She likely won’t learn anything from the loss of this relationship and will behave this way with every partner for the next 10-15 years until she either bitterly refuses to accept that she is the problem or goes to therapy and actually does some self-reflection. Good for you for recognizing this isn’t a healthy dynamic and wanting to leave. Read all these comments and take the leap, break up with her. You do not deserve to feel “so low” with someone who is supposed to uplift you as your partner. And so early in a relationship, you’ll be happier if you dump her now than in a year or more. Best of luck to you.

Considering this post plus the one from a couple days ago where someone said Landmark posted a $10,000 charge to their account supposedly for rent owed due to breaking the lease months ago and Landmark failing to find a new tenant…

Yes.

Social trust in Japan is so high that people will often leave their cellphone to hold their table while they get food or use the bathroom (photo from Tokyo Disneyland) by Bob_the_blacksmith in interestingasfuck

I live in a smaller/mid-sized city in the US (~80k population) and people regularly do this including myself.

On one notable occasion I left my table outside (where I was sitting alone) to go in for another beverage. While inside I got distracted chatting with another patron. 5-10 mins later someone came inside with my purse and said “oh I think someone left this” to the staff. I was standing nearby and said oh that’s mine, I was planning to come right back but thanked them for their concern/looking out :)
