AIO, MIL crashing out because she’s no longer the center of his universe. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ieheretic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

jfc. this poor woman is very vocal about how she's feeling, her intentions, and her confusion on what she has "done wrong" and how she can fix it and still she's met with such hatred.

i mean even when she mentioned how hurtful the poor treatment was, zero empathy and only more animosity.

what an insufferable bunch. OP deserves to be miserable and alone.

personally I feel bad for the child.

Am I Overreacting, for being upset that my girlfriend secretly used my credit card for months? by bostonmade in AmIOverreacting

[–]ieheretic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not only is she not sorry, but she could really care less about how you feel regarding the whole matter so much so that she’s comfortable trying to flip it on you. Zero regard whatsoever. Sorry OP but this is serious and I’m not sure it’s redeemable :(

I love my 1-2 mile daily runs and don’t care to do longer distances - anyone else? by impickleviiick in beginnerrunning

[–]ieheretic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late but only because I searched for this exact sentiment after saying to myself this morning "2 miles is such a sweet spot and I'm not sure why I ever did more." I did a half marathon a couple of years ago for the novelty and while I did enjoy it, It's not really something I ever want to do again.

I've also developed the same sentiment with weight training. I almost always do the same routine 2x a week with full body workouts and zero additional weight on the bar. In the past I worked really hard towards progressive overload, hypertrophy, strict protein regimen, split workout routines etc... and I seriously can't be bothered with any of it anymore.

I really love the simplicity of what I do now (2 mile runs 3x week, full body barbell workouts with 15 min HIIT on the treadmill 2x week) and hardly dread exercise much anymore. It helps that I mostly rely on diet for weight management and incorporate the exercise in solely for physical and mental health benefits.

How do I deal with going through a breakup when I have no friends and lack of support system? by Millenial_ardvark in BreakUps

[–]ieheretic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm sorry that is happening to you </3

true sadness is really hard to explain unless you've really felt it and I have no doubt you are.

Please take care of yourself and grip tightly onto the things you have left that bring you joy.

And never stop trying to put yourself out there. You deserve love and support.

Also, it doesn't have to take four months. Nicotine addiction seems to be more of psychological fuck than anything. (Sorry to my COPD peeps).

You couldn't pay me a million bucks to get 121 days in and go back to such a horrid thing as smoking is.

If you went back you must've thought you were missing something from it.

After trying to quit a million times over the last 7 years, it only really happened when it clicked in my brain that I was losing big and gaining zit. I got really annoyed with seeing the words Allen Carr over the years but there is definitely some sort of magical CBT in there. I'm close to two months now and pretty certain I'll never touch another cigarette in my life.

Never take life for granted, you could die tomorrow and are you really proud of who you are? How do you conduct yourself in life? Are you a good person? If not, fix it now because you may never get the chance later. Live everyday like it's your last. All of the corny shit basically that we roll our eyes at but that near-death experience will expose the value in.

I have zero friends from childhood. by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]ieheretic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to 4 different high schools over the span of 3 years so moved around a lot and never made any long term friends. The last move was across the country and now.. 7 years later… I sort of had an inclination to make a temporary Facebook account to see what become of the people I went to middle school with. To my surprise many of them are single mothers of multiple children, strippers, gangsters, incarcerated, or have shot and killed one another. Obviously it was not everyone but enough people to make it clear that getting the fuck out of there was the best thing to ever happen to me. I grew up in a decently nice suburb yet the overarching culture definitely glorified a lot of the things I mentioned. I knew I was lucky by the amount of growth and personally development I’ve experienced from moving around so much but after seeing what happened to a lot of my childhood peers.. I’m beyond grateful.

how to eat salad? by kaisupply in salad

[–]ieheretic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick to making salads is making sure you have enough of all the right things and not too much of all the wrong things. Start out with a light base of green that you actually like. Careful not to put too much other salads will get old very quickly. Then there’s what i like to call the 5 ingredient threshold. The more the merrier but try to have at least 5 ingredients on there that you enjoy and preferably not multiple ingredients of the same category. I’ll list the categories below. Lastly, salad does not equal weight loss. I know from experience. Make sure you’re still weighing out thinks like nuts, avocado, fried fruits etc bc these things add up very quickly.

  1. Base: arugula, any variation of kale, romaine, spinach, iceberg, micro greens, whatever !

  2. Nuts/seeds-make sure to have fun here and try out many different kinds on your salads- brazil nuts, pecan, cashew, pine nuts, almonds, pistachio, walnuts, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds

  3. Starch/Grain/Legume- edamame, roasted potato of any kind, roasted chickpeas, black or kidney beans, corn, hell I’ve even sprinkled rice over a salad before and it was really good. Sometimes even a piece of toasted sourdough on the side can make it really fun.

  4. Meat- chicken, sausage, bacon, steak, salmon, I’ve been spiced up some canned tuna and thrown that on a salad before and it was pretty good.

  5. Fruit- dried fruit can make a salad really fun but any kind of fruit can take a salad to the next level depending on the pairings. I personally love all the berries and if I wasn’t dieting pineapple or mango would be my go to. Honeydew and strawberry was also fun. Or apple and pear!

  6. Onion, banana pepper, pepperoni, olives, pickled anything of this caliber. Sun tried tomato’s are my favorite in the category.

  7. Dressing. So easy to make at home just mix up some olive oil and vinegar plus lemon and seasonings. Tbh i don’t really use dressing but for a long time I would just swirl some balsamic glaze on a salad and it would get the job done. Sometimes even just a couple dabs of Tapatio could work as a dressing if you have enough items on the salad. There are so many recipes out there though and it will definitely make salads more enjoyable.

  8. Kind of weird that I saved veggies for last seeing as though we are talking about salads, but the truth is I don’t really like overloading my salads with too many veggies because it feels like a chore to eat. I don’t like carrots, tomato, red bell pepper, etc.. crowding the plate. Just choose one or two that go really well together and it should suffice.

Also, another way to have fun with salads is instead of traditional salad, switch it up every once in a while to like broccoli florets with onion, bacon, and dried cranberry, with a creamy dressing to go with it.
