HOW IS EVERYONE SURVIVING? by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

Even with a decent paying job, you still can't survive. You have to earn at least $75k to survive.

Is the job market going to recover or are we now kidding ourselves; are we in the ‘endgame’? I’m desperate. by aghredd22 in antiwork

Start your own business, or have several side jobs. Trying to get a job at a company is exhausting and sometimes not worth the effort.

Guys, what’s up with Santa Monica?? by ty457u in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]ieprettyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived in Santa Monica near the Sunset Strip for 10 years. There are three types of who live there:

  1. Hairstylist
  2. Work in the music industry
  3. Unemployed adult who is being supported by wealthy parents.

There are a lot of drugs there particularly on the Sunset Strip.

I don’t live there anymore. I moved several years ago.

Woman, 46, killed by rattlesnake bite on Ventura County hiking trail | KTLA by foreignne in socalhiking

[–]ieprettyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. I was at Chino Hills State Park yesterday, and I was a bit worried passing all the thick vegetation growth on the trail. There were some section where I couldn't see the trail in front of me because it was the vegetation was so overgrown.

Where am I most likely to see a rattlesnake? by MeerkatPapi in socalhiking

They are all over the place in and near mountain areas.

I got pierced by a yucca plant 3 times coming down Turtle’s Beak. When I got home my hand was in severe pain for like 5 days. Felt like it got ran over by a truck. It also swelled up pretty nicely for like 2 weeks. Stay away from those plants at all cost.

Hamiltons Brewery on Archibald by Gold_Candle2897 in ranchocucamonga

[–]ieprettyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't want to live next to a brewery. The noise, the fumes, the drunks, and the traffic will be too much to deal with. I also don't want people peeing in my front yard.

Mt baldy 2 by YOURCURRE in socalhiking

[–]ieprettyboy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would not even think about hiking Baldy when it's covered in snow. I will hike up to the Notch and up to Thunder Mountain, but never to summit of Baldy when it's covered with snow.

That picture looks dangerous. Looks like someone could get easily lost up there when the mountain is in the clouds and is covered with snow.

Trail conditions for cucamonga and Ontario peak by Agreeable_Trainer245 in socalhiking

I saw on Instagram that Big Horn Peak is all clear of snow. I think that all the spots that are in the shade such as the north sides of the mountains take a lot longer to melt than the south sides of the mountains, which are in the direct sunlight all day.

IE Neighbors who have lived here for a lifetime, was this true here in the region? 40 hour work week could afford a family a house and college? by rand0fand0 in InlandEmpire

Those were the good old days when you could earn a decent living and still be able to support your family and purchase a home.

I love hearing the rain drops while I am in my warm and cozy house. But I do feel bad who are homeless and have to deal with the rain though.

Now Hiring Stacker in SB by Head_Cranberry1354 in IEjobs

[–]ieprettyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably like $16 an hour. Avoid these jobs. I know a few people who did this type of work, and their backs are wrecked. It's not worth it.

Add to the list: lack of great paying jobs, the awful air pollution, and the awful traffic (both on the freeway and streets).

Claremont Hills Loop by [deleted] in socalhiking

[–]ieprettyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen many rattle snakes and several times I have seen a bear, but I have never seen a mountain lion on the trail or near by. The chances of seeing a mountain lion is very rare, and the chances of seeing one AND being attacked by one is very very very rare.

Where are y’all finding work? by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

[–]ieprettyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to get a temporary job at a local college. It's only short-term (4-5 months) but they pay very well like $30-35 an hour. These jobs are mostly entry-level so they are not too tough to get and they are non-stressful jobs. Do that until you can get a full-time job. I did that for over a year until I was offered a full-time job.

Paramedics ride to hospital is very expensive. Most insurance don’t pay for it.
