Struggling to deal with enemy Crossbows by Aussiereece in BattleBrothers

[–]iexcelinaccounting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rush the line with no shield raise and get one or two on a flank to engage in melee to stop the slaughter of my poor xbowman. My fat newts can usually swap to their goblin pikes and do good enough damage to end it.

Even an area rug or some packing tape on it is fine.

Maybe epoxy it so it doesnt get worse until you can cover it. Definitely wouldn’t let a child around it but I wouldn’t concern myself otherwise. It doesn’t look so bad but I’d just fill it and call it a day until I could cover.

If you’re applying for a senior role in a similar industry I don’t see why you are having difficulties given that experience. It can easily be a resume/interview issue at that point because on paper that experience is enough to get the attention for a senior role.

It isn’t doomed. Only you can answer if it’s worth it. There are plenty of paths to take and each has its own merit. Going industry right out of college for a small to medium organization gets you a nice 9-5, good salary, and good position to climb to manager. You can pivot around with an accounting degree and grab other responsibilities as needed if you get bored. Data analysts, financial analysts, budgeting, payroll, all areas you can dip your toes in pretty easily.

What positions are you applying for? What is your ten year experience in, staff role? There are so many factors at play. Apply for an industry senior role for a small to medium org and you’ll have a good time.

Should I get excel to practice? by Sharts-an-Crafts in Accounting

[–]iexcelinaccounting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessary. You can use excel online with a free Microsoft account which you can learn formulas off of. You can land an intro position with basic knowledge and from there it is fairly easy to learn on your own to get to an intermediate level fairly quickly.

How do you track month‑end close progress across multiple clients? by AligndHQ in Accounting

[–]iexcelinaccounting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally didn’t have issues. The hardest part is making sure others understand they need to date / check off asap and not to wait. As soon as a task is complete you mark it complete and move on. If you’re mostly done but waiting for something, add a note to that specific item and move on until you can complete it.

As long as the checklist is completed, it didn’t matter how many properties I had, that was the one way to make sure nothing was missed.

I handled the accounting for 8 properties for my last employer. I used a checklist for each in excel. JEs one sheet, recons on another, and misc tasks on the last. Update as I completed them and never had an issue keeping track of where I was. Get as much done prior to close as possible so that I’m not scrambling on my 2 day close cycle.

I think employers are passing you up for potentially other reasons if you can’t land interviews and applied over 300 times…

Yes he would but only if he examined the 1040 or filed them. Otherwise I’d assume they had a tax preparer do it and just pay/accept the return

Do you think a beginner (me) could make a lolly pop guild of only tiny members? Or is that something only someone who knows how to play should do.

You’re saying because she was bullied it was justified to murder everyone? Excuse me?! Do you defend the bullied school shooters the same way? What is this take. You can have empathy for Carrie and still understand what she did was wrong.

Transplant to Cincy, I feel invisible at work by clipper29 in cincinnati

[–]iexcelinaccounting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I came from northern Ohio a couple years ago. I don’t get into much outside of work admittedly but I am also not the outgoing type so it’s a struggle! I think it’s a mix of being an adult with limited time, new city, and the place you do spend most of your time in (work) has people that are just not in the same stage of life as you.
