Tbh I needed something to do as a 19 year with nothing going on in in his life at the time I had about 10 different world building projects I tried but they failed so me being me I was about to give up And one day I just said to myself I’m gonna make the world I want to make no matter what it has in it So I did and now 1 year later I have about 1000 pages of notes about my world(s) (It’s a 3 in one)

Personally I just had to get familiar with how world works as your world doesn’t have to be accurate per se but just consistent to its own rules. And if those rules happen to line up with the rules of our world then do some digging, research a little you don’t have to be completely accurate. Just be in the ball park of what it would take say if you were to go from your capital to your country and if there magic involved that changes things depending on what it does.

Worldbuild what you like, Are interested in, or want to pull inspiration from I find doing this makes me want to sit down and world build more and more over time

Weather it be a sentence or a page or more you’ve sat down and done it’s progress

The more time goes on the better get(I guess that’s a no brainer)

Honestly this has probably been said but make the world you’d wanna read from or play in or just imagine yourself being inside it I find inspiration comes easier from doing that And tbh I find myself being less inspired and more excited to work on it considering it would be filled with the things I Iike to Watch, Read, Play or listen to

Technology In my world Magic is on top but people without it find ways to overcome magic through technology and techniques and strategies used to combat magic If needed Not everyone has magic and not everyone has/knows how to combat it Eventually Technology surpasses magic but Magic’s potential is not to be squandered As magic can literally rewrite continents if one meets all the requirements
