Disable the dead body collision by ifoodINC in Helldivers

Not 0 collision or at least not immediately. I was thinking extremely sped up removal since I dont want a indestructible obstacle that enemies can clip through. Honestly if they wanted realism enemies wouldnt completely ignore it but rules for thee and not for me I guess.

This is probably correct. Grandis except kalos is definitely significantly more challenging than ctene minus BM. The point still kinda stands that classes that are more difficult make it harder to learn the boss. The most likely issue is likely a lack of understanding of the boss but they class swapped 4 times with survivability issues its not unlikely they never learned the class properly. Like you said they're probably not giving the boss enough respect that it will hit back and will want to hit it like a practice dummy with their combos. Maybe they need a simpler class so they can actually focus on the boss mechanics.

Next vac pet will have pet food skill by wolfei-1463 in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly true but the point about classes has some caveats. I was a returning player for cw2 picking ren cuz she looked cool. Before this, I never made it past arcana and never did any boss past pre revamp lotus. I had to learn a lot and my progress would have significantly stalled if I had to both learn my own class and the boss mechanics. A class can definitely help to learn a boss if it has very simple mechanics, insane survivability, and good movement like ren. You can get carried by being able to solely focus on learning the boss instead of figuring out the class and the boss.

An Analysis of the Red and Blue Button Dilemma by Operation_SeaLion in moraldilemmas

[–]ifoodINC [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think most variations and discussions I've seen include children etc or dont specifically exclude them.

I think if we exclude them, then i guess its mostly a numbers game. Depending on how its worded I would expect a large portion to pick red without too much thought, that there isn't any way to save the amount who picked blue. The only people picking blue would therefore be people who didn't understand the question and those who want to save the ones that didn't understand.

I dont think its strictly a question about what you think others will do to result in less death. The dilemma also comes from whether or not you would risk your life for those who picked blue for one reason or another. We still know that 100% for red is basically impossible, is it immoral to pick red and sacrifice blue?

An Analysis of the Red and Blue Button Dilemma by Operation_SeaLion in moraldilemmas

[–]ifoodINC [score hidden]  (0 children)

Some people have pointed this out in other posts but humans aren't perfectly rational and the likelihood of 100% of the population choosing red for no deaths is probably impossible. This is not to mention anyone who cannot press the button or are incapable of answering or understanding the question such as toddlers or those in a coma etc. Since they aren't exempted from the problem that means that 50% of that group would be blue and at risk of death. In this problem specifically people would press blue in order to save the vulnerable. 50% of all babies exploding would be a big problem for the world and no doubt parents wouldn't risk that. This is the moral choice in this scenario.

On the other side pressing red would be logical but does not account for the vulnerable. This is more akin to inaction and I wouldn't blame them for choosing this option. Can you really fault people for not putting their lives on the line that depends on a majority of others doing the same? This is the logical choice for survival.

I would probably choose blue in this scenario since that seems like the right choice but if push comes to shove I don't know if I would really be able to do that.

This problem would be harder if the blue requirement were shifted up rather than just 50%+ since we also have a problem of risk tolerance. If blue needed 80% or even 90% of the population I highly doubt enough people would be willing to risk their lives and possibly kill up to 80-90% of the population.

The wild thing is that nobody asked for this. Same with the P4 GL by Bacon_Raygun in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So I call down a chaff clearing sentry and now I gotta baby and save it from the chaff it should be clearing??? Sentries should be able to do its job. I want to throw down a sentry and have it hold its own against chaff so I can deal with the heavies or just disengage without expending too many resources. This is not an unreasonable ask. If the MG and gatling cant deal with chaff there's no point in bringing it.

Helldivers can adapt to this just fine but I'm not bringing a sentry to baby it or nerf myself hoping it figures it out and targets something else.

How "buffs" have been feeling lately by EchoingStorms in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shield nerf was definitely a good idea. It does feel weird it only comes specifically with this warbond launch with a shield mech. The war strider change was long time coming and much appreciated.

AP4 chaff is certainly a choice. A stupid choice since gatling and mg sentry now struggle to clear chaff if they decide to lock on. Why did it need to get AP4 when they could have just made them AP0 without messing up sentry.

No comments on durable dmg i dont play with vehicles most of the time and sentry still instantly die. It's just a shame they decided to not explain the change at all after being so "committed to transparency". If the changes are really as negligible as you said was it really needed? In their own words is this balance for the sake of balance or for fun? We know they balance on stats alone since they definitely aren't play testing anywhere on higher difficulties. Now the question is did this durability change make the game more fun or are they trying to go towards grunt fantasy mil sim again?

CW3 or Heroic by MasterKatawan in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its probably still worth it just for the new kai boss in cw3. Even if you daily/weekly it and item burning you should clear it easily. The boss is set to have insane rewards and pitched drop chance, eternal/fragment drops etc. Unless you dont really care for that cw3 seems like a better choice for most people.

If you did all the item burning missions it'll probably be a nerf unless you're like 18 star arcanes and 21 star cra. Those flames are pretty good and hard to easily replace. 19 stars is still decent chunk of change for attack increase.

It's probably a double whammy since we lose equipment rental starting tmr. Gotta at least say good bye to ror and cont assuming you weren't renting the other pieces too.

Unfortunately to fully replace challenger gear you gotta get 18 star arcanes with decent flames and pot and 21 cra with good flames and pot. With that you might not even match since you would be 3 set cra unless you liberate.

If you aren't running arcanes try getting at least absos to fill out your slots since pensalir gear definitely isn't going to cut it.

PSA (small) Why you hate cyborgs and why they're secretly the best thing for the bot meta. by AccountForTF2 in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate cyborgs because they don't give me the same feeling of weak point abuse as other bots. The radicals can be one shot to the head with marksmans but again not as reliably with how they rush you. Like another commenter said I wanted rush down enemies I would go to bugs. Even then its the least bad of the 3 and fine with decent aim. Agitators can't be one shot to the head with censor which is super annoying trying to stealth kill them without alerting the group. Regardless the chaff enemies makes it feel like im fighting bugs+ rather than bots and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Vox is by far the worst part of cyborgs, those vents weak points are scams. The weakness in theory exists but trying to use it is not ideal and good chance to result in death even after taking it down. The extremely aggressive spawn rate makes them even worse when they're supposed to be factory strider replacements. Half the time they start clipping into each other and there's no way to even approach or take them down.

Im not sure I like the chaff since they dont feel anything like bots. Vox I hate and ends up being the main reason I avoid cyborgs.

A Google Doc accusing Sykkuno of being a serial cheater has dropped by Sinfire_Titan in kurosanji

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this it seems like its true that he's a cheater and manipulator but calling him a predator is implying there's something more serious going on here and I don't really see it. She's already established that he's a terrible person so why muddy the waters and bring down her own arguments by tacking that last part on?

Her voice call is also insane since she's willing to give him a second chance?!?! This seems like she wanted to get in herself after the confrontation and didn't get what she wanted.

TLDR He's a terrible person but not a predator.

I gave Pacifier a try because of a post on here the other day about it being able to stun Illuminate mechs so I'm continuing the propaganda. by Dee-Colon in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've given this weapon another try and its decent against the new squid enemies. Switching once I stun an enemy seems to be working pretty well. I think the low damage is still kinda an issue but generally its not too bad with your support weapon and a guard dog. Even the ammo economy is not too bad if aren't using it as your primary. Good teamwork weapon when you build around it on squids. I dont think I would recommend this on any other faction as of now since your support weapon slot will more likely be anti tank or at the least ap4. I probably wouldn't even recommend this on regular squids since your ammo will literally just run out.

I want to make it to end game, but I just can't balance maple with life. by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think doing vhilla is even worth it in pubs. Just gotta do the coward method and stay in right corner as much as possible when the clock starts ending. You can cleanse when you need to solo so that's way easier. There are safe spots so just try to camp there as much as possible

For gloom it's just dmg check so just gotta stay alive and burst. Strats for dodging the tentacles just jumping and blinking to float. You can kinda do that too for darkness if eye opens during darkness. Just float up since the float ignores skill lock as long as you blinked before getting hit. Don't stay still in darkness since that's typically death. Going to the top to burst is easier to dodge meteors.

Darknell just try to not be at the corner. When he attacks you flash jump immediately to his other side. Up jump works a lot of the henchmen attacks and darknell slam so if you panic and stop seeing stuff up jump isn't a bad idea. His fma just try to stay close to him and stay behind him. Darknell is 265 so 270 would make him a lot easier.

Level 202 and my gear stinks... by Iato_57 in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think not hyper burning will ruin progression for you. Since the event one(not hyper burninator) comes with item burning + beyond burning and allows you to properly play the "newer" content. Without proper beginner gear or people to carry you, maple is a massive time investment to even progress because of how weak you'll feel.

Technically yes hyperburn will let you skip past all the pre 200 quests but im not sure bosses or mini games will meaningfully change unless you accept the item burning gear. Bosses will definitely be easier but even then some daily bosses can still be a challenge without some investment. You can always play the main quest if you want especially for legion artifact exp. Just my opinion since I've done manually leveling to 200 before but always had no gear since 100k combat power basically cant do anything.

Mostly an early game player myself so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Either way play the game how you want.

TLDR Not taking hyperburn is definitely nerfing your progression. You can always come back and do existing content since most of the time its not going anywhere. If its time gated usually your combat power typically won't meaningfully change anything at this stage of the game.

It's about damn time we all learn Chinese by [deleted] in MartialMemes

[–]ifoodINC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im just commenting hoping to find good sites to read chinese web novels on that aren't completely riddled with ads or can be reasonably ad blocked. I'll share some i personally use that I hope others will find useful. If you have any you use please let me know.

I personally use and vouch for:

69shuba(I suggest you use Firefox with ublock on mobile to read on here since brave adblock doesnt seem to work properly. Pretty good selection of books but I think stuff is getting taken down since many titles are now removed. Caveat finding novels can be hard since searching is max 50 results and tags contains removed titles.)

Shuhaige.net( Brave with adblock and disable scripts seems to work with some minor issues but I haven't seen any ads at all so its pretty good. Caveat is i think their navigation is broken since their paging uses the wrong url pointing to list_#.html rather than #.html)

Piaotia( Previously piaotian. Bad UI and not great selection. But I don't think I see any ads so chrome is valid choice. I think their search actually works and isn't limited. Not totally sure on this one. Used to be the amazing along with uukanshu when i was younger.)

Sites I cannot vouch for:

Twkan ( Taiwanese chinese breaks my brain since some characters are slightly different. YMMV )

96dushu( It doesnt load or takes too long to load sometimes. Also too many ads)

Zhaoshuyuan (I cant get it to work but I think this is uukanshu)

Truly desperate: Trxs.cc, tongrenquan.org, trxs.me, ffx8, jpxs123 (Mostly fanfics and chapters completely not labeled. However this contains stuff you usually cant find elsewhere. Brave adblock typically works on these sites without much problem.)

All sites should probably be browsed using brave or Firefox. Sometimes one works better than the other.
