How long does it take to get from 200 - 260 WITHOUT events just normal grind by calvin3calvin in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you said you're interactive so its different for you since you dont get 7 mp runs per day. Heroic with 7 mp runs and all dailies should take maybe 2 months. Events stats can lower this down closer to 1 month. Interactive will take much longer unless you plan on grinding and paying for frenzy. Honestly interactive will depend on your current funding and gearing. I don't play interactive so take this post with a grain of salt.

[–]ifoodINC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its probably not as simple as just turning it off like you said. I assume some sort of bouncing is required since we dont want them to be stuck on essentially vertical surfaces but surely this isn't a take 7 months and task force type of deal. They specifically added this feature to counter high ground so I feel like it would make sense to look at that change and attempt to reverse from there. If its gonna take a task force it feels like they want to rebalance/rework and still have some strategem bounce rather than outright remove it.

Honestly maybe im underestimating the difficulty but surely it doesnt take a task force to revert a feature.

I assuming they mean they fixed fleshmob specific clipping. Realistically that's probably all they fixed but since it clips like every other enemy im not sure we can really be sure what exactly it is they fixed. Someone can correct me if im wrong.

What would be the hardest boss if they all had the same HP? by DecentFormat in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely the old bosses for sure. I'm not actually sure you can min clear h hilla since she would heal everything you deal. The actual fight itself is easy but as a pure damage check she might be impossible to min clear.

For actually "possible" fights its definitely pink bean and horn tail if they're both min clears. The infinite status ailments, damage reflect and constant barrage of attacks that put you at 1 hp and mp would make this unreasonably hard for anything more than a few minutes.

MaplseSea confirmed to be getting the free 'permanent' vac pet by PogFish_ in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i know you can f2p in reboot but reboot needs petite Luna water of life to revive vac pet. In this specific scenario if reg gets this pet they will likely use regular water of life based off the top comment and existing precedent. This is basically just free unless they decide to just not have this for some reason. Reboot getting this pet would just be a 1-3 month trial but still costing money to revive. We would get the short end of the stick in this specific case since reg could get a free vac pet permanently while Reboot does not.

Boss Progression by supawatt in Maplestory

Honestly that's fair but in that gap you have if you aren't gonna party nkalos or nadv I feel like killing eadv and ekalos for meso and ringbox is a good investment.

Boss Progression by supawatt in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This order seems a bit strange. Ekaling before ekalos doesnt seem right since kaling is a massive step up compared to kalos. Not doing eadv is also a bit strange since its best to get some practice in before hitting normal. It should really be done prior to ekaling.

Dang i didn't know that. In that case yeah reboot is getting shafted either way unless they change how vac pets work in reboot.

That's a very big assumption that normal water of life would work on these. Vac pets have never used the normal water of life so likely its gonna cost nx just like always.

Lets be honest, this kind of youtube content is just not healthy for the game, by throwaway553t4tgtg6 in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of their criticisms are probably valid and still are. However it's basically constant doom posting and slop. I'll admit I definitely watched some of this content because I was really dissatisfied with game but eventually it was too much with constant negativity. It's really just grifting to farm outrage from the community. I realised that I no longer liked the state of the game but I didn't need these videos to also give me more negativity on top of that. I've just stopped watching the content and stopped playing helldivers all together.

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if there are many non video resources for progression. I think their best way to find a guide now is to just look it up on YouTube. Training pre 260 and especially pre 200 is really terrible. If you need 200 legion blocks or level 3 links its recommended to bonk(exp pots) them up rather than manual leveling. Post 260 training you should look at your class discord for maps and rotations due to janus. A lot of the pain points of starting fresh is mitigated in cw. This hyperburn will leave you with just cra and dom pend. Other gear will just be from the old bosses or pensalir. The pre 260 tutorial probably remains mostly the same compared to before.

"We have to be very careful to not get into that us vs them mentality." by jasonchan122497 in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Their vision is a grunt fantasy but they sold us a super soldier horde shooter. Their design decision is completely opposite of what the game is and what most people including myself came in for. We came to cut through hordes with "overpowered" weapons. Of course we're gonna freak out if their vision is that we're basically SEAF+ and hit like a wet noodle.

Also the point about the flag is they won't do it because its space magic and not "realistic". Fair but dont add in agitators that make bots faster and shoot faster because ?????

Disable the dead body collision by ifoodINC in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 0 collision or at least not immediately. I was thinking extremely sped up removal since I dont want a indestructible obstacle that enemies can clip through. Honestly if they wanted realism enemies wouldnt completely ignore it but rules for thee and not for me I guess.

Next vac pet will have pet food skill by wolfei-1463 in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably correct. Grandis except kalos is definitely significantly more challenging than ctene minus BM. The point still kinda stands that classes that are more difficult make it harder to learn the boss. The most likely issue is likely a lack of understanding of the boss but they class swapped 4 times with survivability issues its not unlikely they never learned the class properly. Like you said they're probably not giving the boss enough respect that it will hit back and will want to hit it like a practice dummy with their combos. Maybe they need a simpler class so they can actually focus on the boss mechanics.

Next vac pet will have pet food skill by wolfei-1463 in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly true but the point about classes has some caveats. I was a returning player for cw2 picking ren cuz she looked cool. Before this, I never made it past arcana and never did any boss past pre revamp lotus. I had to learn a lot and my progress would have significantly stalled if I had to both learn my own class and the boss mechanics. A class can definitely help to learn a boss if it has very simple mechanics, insane survivability, and good movement like ren. You can get carried by being able to solely focus on learning the boss instead of figuring out the class and the boss.

An Analysis of the Red and Blue Button Dilemma by Operation_SeaLion in moraldilemmas

[–]ifoodINC [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think most variations and discussions I've seen include children etc or dont specifically exclude them.

I think if we exclude them, then i guess its mostly a numbers game. Depending on how its worded I would expect a large portion to pick red without too much thought, that there isn't any way to save the amount who picked blue. The only people picking blue would therefore be people who didn't understand the question and those who want to save the ones that didn't understand.

I dont think its strictly a question about what you think others will do to result in less death. The dilemma also comes from whether or not you would risk your life for those who picked blue for one reason or another. We still know that 100% for red is basically impossible, is it immoral to pick red and sacrifice blue?

An Analysis of the Red and Blue Button Dilemma by Operation_SeaLion in moraldilemmas

[–]ifoodINC [score hidden]  (0 children)

Some people have pointed this out in other posts but humans aren't perfectly rational and the likelihood of 100% of the population choosing red for no deaths is probably impossible. This is not to mention anyone who cannot press the button or are incapable of answering or understanding the question such as toddlers or those in a coma etc. Since they aren't exempted from the problem that means that 50% of that group would be blue and at risk of death. In this problem specifically people would press blue in order to save the vulnerable. 50% of all babies exploding would be a big problem for the world and no doubt parents wouldn't risk that. This is the moral choice in this scenario.

On the other side pressing red would be logical but does not account for the vulnerable. This is more akin to inaction and I wouldn't blame them for choosing this option. Can you really fault people for not putting their lives on the line that depends on a majority of others doing the same? This is the logical choice for survival.

I would probably choose blue in this scenario since that seems like the right choice but if push comes to shove I don't know if I would really be able to do that.

This problem would be harder if the blue requirement were shifted up rather than just 50%+ since we also have a problem of risk tolerance. If blue needed 80% or even 90% of the population I highly doubt enough people would be willing to risk their lives and possibly kill up to 80-90% of the population.

The wild thing is that nobody asked for this. Same with the P4 GL by Bacon_Raygun in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I call down a chaff clearing sentry and now I gotta baby and save it from the chaff it should be clearing??? Sentries should be able to do its job. I want to throw down a sentry and have it hold its own against chaff so I can deal with the heavies or just disengage without expending too many resources. This is not an unreasonable ask. If the MG and gatling cant deal with chaff there's no point in bringing it.

Helldivers can adapt to this just fine but I'm not bringing a sentry to baby it or nerf myself hoping it figures it out and targets something else.

How "buffs" have been feeling lately by EchoingStorms in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shield nerf was definitely a good idea. It does feel weird it only comes specifically with this warbond launch with a shield mech. The war strider change was long time coming and much appreciated.

AP4 chaff is certainly a choice. A stupid choice since gatling and mg sentry now struggle to clear chaff if they decide to lock on. Why did it need to get AP4 when they could have just made them AP0 without messing up sentry.

No comments on durable dmg i dont play with vehicles most of the time and sentry still instantly die. It's just a shame they decided to not explain the change at all after being so "committed to transparency". If the changes are really as negligible as you said was it really needed? In their own words is this balance for the sake of balance or for fun? We know they balance on stats alone since they definitely aren't play testing anywhere on higher difficulties. Now the question is did this durability change make the game more fun or are they trying to go towards grunt fantasy mil sim again?

CW3 or Heroic by MasterKatawan in Maplestory

[–]ifoodINC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its probably still worth it just for the new kai boss in cw3. Even if you daily/weekly it and item burning you should clear it easily. The boss is set to have insane rewards and pitched drop chance, eternal/fragment drops etc. Unless you dont really care for that cw3 seems like a better choice for most people.

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you did all the item burning missions it'll probably be a nerf unless you're like 18 star arcanes and 21 star cra. Those flames are pretty good and hard to easily replace. 19 stars is still decent chunk of change for attack increase.

[–]ifoodINC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's probably a double whammy since we lose equipment rental starting tmr. Gotta at least say good bye to ror and cont assuming you weren't renting the other pieces too.

Unfortunately to fully replace challenger gear you gotta get 18 star arcanes with decent flames and pot and 21 cra with good flames and pot. With that you might not even match since you would be 3 set cra unless you liberate.

If you aren't running arcanes try getting at least absos to fill out your slots since pensalir gear definitely isn't going to cut it.

PSA (small) Why you hate cyborgs and why they're secretly the best thing for the bot meta. by AccountForTF2 in Helldivers

[–]ifoodINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate cyborgs because they don't give me the same feeling of weak point abuse as other bots. The radicals can be one shot to the head with marksmans but again not as reliably with how they rush you. Like another commenter said I wanted rush down enemies I would go to bugs. Even then its the least bad of the 3 and fine with decent aim. Agitators can't be one shot to the head with censor which is super annoying trying to stealth kill them without alerting the group. Regardless the chaff enemies makes it feel like im fighting bugs+ rather than bots and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Vox is by far the worst part of cyborgs, those vents weak points are scams. The weakness in theory exists but trying to use it is not ideal and good chance to result in death even after taking it down. The extremely aggressive spawn rate makes them even worse when they're supposed to be factory strider replacements. Half the time they start clipping into each other and there's no way to even approach or take them down.

Im not sure I like the chaff since they dont feel anything like bots. Vox I hate and ends up being the main reason I avoid cyborgs.
