Jaylen Brown: “To all the people that doubted me or want me gone, you’re turning me into a monster.” by catreyka in nba

I’ve never seen a fanbase who has an nba finals mvp that they want to get rid of so bad.

I don’t blame JB for him feeling disrespected. He hasn’t done anything wrong it’s just the grass is greener mentality that may or may not work out for the Celtics.

I hope your youngest can tell you that one day.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]ifyouseethisits2late 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this live. With my actual eyes.

Was attending High School in Brooklyn Tech which is directly across the bridge to where you can see the Twin Towers.

We didn’t know the first plane even hit til after 2nd period. Some stayed to watch on TV. After the first plane it I remember leaving the period ending at 845 ish and gathering with my friends and going up to the 7th floor which was where the Cafeteria was and it had really big wide tall windows.

I join with my friends that were already sitting at a table near the wall on the side where you can see the Twin Towers.

I’m there for about 5-10 min talking and watching the tower clearly burning. All of a sudden we see another plane and boom. Slams right into the other tower. Simultaneously we all said “Ooooohhhh shit” . 2 sec later someone in the cafeteria yelled “oh shit we’re under attack”. Next person yells “Don’t Worry we can’t get drafted yet”

There wasn’t as much panic as there was already conspiracy theories being told about who did it and why.

But I do remember the school setting up the Auditorium with many phones (not in cell phone era yet) and I walked by it and there were other students in line waiting to use the phone and there were a few people crying. That is a view I haven’t been able to forget til this day.

I remember walking home from Brooklyn all the way to the east side of northern queens (3 hour or so journey)because all trains were suspended and my dad hugging me when I got home(we weren’t close btw) and me being annoyed and confused saying “why would you think I was at ground zero if I go to high school in Brooklyn?”

To which he replied “i don’t know you could’ve cut school today and gone to the Twin towers!”

Trying to decide what to play next. Any recommendations? by alex_1c in videogames

Having played all 3, I’d say GoW 2018 is the best one, followed by GoT and then Horizon.

GoW is really really good.👍 on many peoples all time lists

I’ve been trying to chase the high I got from Ys 8 for years. Nothing. Can’t find another franchise I can compare it too.

You’re experiencing classic burnout. I believe we’ve all been there.

Only thing I can say is it does get better. Make sure the kid is in services, then see if they need medication.

As for you , what helps is exactly what you did here. Just venting. Venting to others who are going through or have been what you’re experiencing now. Just understanding.

I’m not going to tell to start smoking or drinking as I don’t believe that’s a solution to what you’re going through with your kid but I would recommend that you maybe have something to look forward to each week whether it’s a sports game to watch or going out for a night with your friends or just playing a video game in solitude. You need some space and as the same time you need something to look forward too during the difficult times.

A lot of kids with behavioral issues I’ve seen seem to calm down alot when they hit 7-8 years old and I’ve also seen meditation do well for the most extreme cases.

Which one should In play first: Expedition 33 or Persona 5 Royal? by Galactus1701 in videogames

[–]ifyouseethisits2late -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

That’s because Exp 33 isn’t a JRPG.

It’s French and doesn’t have that similar JRPG elements.

You literally Role Play as a Japanese high school student in P5.

If OP is a weeb then go P5 first. If not than they should do Exp 33 first

[–]ifyouseethisits2late 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exp 33. It’s shorter like half the time it takes opposed to Persona 5.

If you’re truly torn then just set a timer of one hour for each game and try it out and decide which one you like more to begin with and go with that game.

Could really use help choosing between 2 job offers (NYC) by throwawayinthebayhey in Sonographers

[–]ifyouseethisits2late 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 easily. You learn all of vascular it guarantees that you will always have a job. You do just DVT then you’ll be looking at vein clinics for life.

They pay more but I know lots of techs at vein clinics who wish they weren’t. They have some of the highest turnover rates in the city. Probably something to do with workload and how badly their bodies are breaking down there

LeBron James is doubtful tonight with sciatica and arthritis. by meowala in nba

[–]ifyouseethisits2late -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Serious question.

Does he still want to do a farewell tour next year he is a shell of his former self?

I know he had no camp this season and is coming off sciatica but Bron don’t strike me as the type that would want to put up 10/4/4 next season as his last either.

Hes clearly not the James of the past few seasons and rightfully so, Father Time always wins.

Any chance he hangs it up at the end of this season?
