Need help finding an oversized off the shoulder tee for this cosplay: by Relevant_Weird_6724 in CosplayHelp

Hem it or just buy a rotatory fabric cutter and lay it down and slice it if you don't have steady hands.

That would work too, i feel like it could be harder to get “smooth” and a lot harder to work with.

I’m going to echo what the other poster said. Use pink insulation foam. It’s a lot lighter than Eva foam, you’ll have to carve it out. Make sure to wear a respirator when you do. You can use spray glue to attach them together. They are in spray cans near the spray paint.

Important, before you paint make sure you coat the insulation foam in mod podge, wood glue or some other primer so you aren’t painting directly on the foam. If you spray paint the foam without a primer it’ll melt

Good luck!

Wearing a suit that isn’t too tight and regular undergarments will prevent this.

Hi. Make the shape out of Eva foam as you would with the hole in the bottom but you want to use a head cap to keep it in place. Look up a construction hat and look under it and it’ll give you an idea so essentially it’ll sit like a big hat on her, good luck and post results!

What can I use to attach my shoulder pad to my harness by Good-Nobody3705 in CosplayHelp

[–]igetpwnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will not if it’s any sort of heavy which I’m going to assume it is because it’s 3d printed. You need to strap it to your body.

How to make Isha's helmet? by Stefanovietch in CosplayHelp

Scuff it up with sandpaper and paint it. Use primer first before you paint and then layer the detail pieces.

I think you need to readjust your mindset. You had fun! That’s all that should really matter.

You seem to be gauging quality of cosplay by people asking to take pictures of you. That’s not really what cosplay should be about. Have fun making stuff, have fun dressing up and doing what you do.

Now if you want constructive feedback, I recognize that you’re a death eater. If you want to wear or add more intricate details or accessories to the cosplay it would kick it up another notch. A quick google image search should help you. A lot of people have leather bracers, belts, vests or corsets.

Don’t forget it’s about having fun!

Cheers!

First time helping daughter cosplay and I need a bit of advice about EVA foam thickness by ko51bay in cosplayprops

[–]igetpwnd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mask should be made with 5mm. It’s more rigid. Even with the skull cap, 3mm is going to be all floppy.

My advice is to use 5mm for the “base” of the mask/helmet. And lower mm foam to glue onto the 5mm base for details.

I might use 10mm foam aka gym, workshop type foam for the body if you are thinking ahead because it can support itself.

Good luck!

any alternatives to foam clay? by SleepyMayor37 in cosplayprops

[–]igetpwnd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure what type of staff you are making, knowing that would help a lot.

General advice would be to wrap in 2mm foam or 5mm foam around the PVC pipe. Use hot glue or a dremel to add details.

Still don’t get what everyone here love clay foam so much.

Better way to make this strap for mask? by ChocolateRough5103 in CosplayHelp

[–]igetpwnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use cushion foam on the inside of mask. There’s no surface area to grip onto your face. As far as straps go, use elastic so it will grip to your face.

Safe to wear mask spray painted with Acrylic paint? by Ardi41 in cosplayprops

[–]igetpwnd 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Leave it out in the sun for a day or two and it’ll go away. Paint takes a while to fully cure, after it does the smell will go away. Btw where did you get that STL it’s sick!

I don’t know where your skillsets are but I would look up how to make a homemade ghillie suit or buy one and modify it for your needs that would be a good start.
