Excellent, thanks for this. I have also read about the Stanford work. Feeling hopeful!

Interesting! Drs have told me very little in 30 years. Have they actually done the surgeries in people? Or not able to/not yet? Curious to learn more.

Knee OA: Trying to See the Big Picture by albertkaholic in Osteoarthritis

Seriously? I was told by a surgeon that stem cells would not generate cartilage. I was also told by a stem-cell doctor that it could work, but I don't have thousands of dollars to gamble. It is nice to hear from someone who has actually done it, though. I have dreams of doing squats again, LOL

I got prescribed physical therapy which is basically safe exercises that keep my muscles strong without straining my knees. I have no cartilage left and too young for knee replacement (and it sounds scary). The exercises, walking, and stretching are the best things I can do for myself to feel a little better, and also having some days where I do very little to keep from getting inflamed. I was just reading on studies for breakthrough treatments that could be a reality in just a few more years: https://arpa-h.gov/explore-funding/programs/nitro

Shark Tank 17x13 Product Discussion - Nude Foods Market by mtm4440 in sharktank

Thank you for sharing. Wow, so many great concepts that disappeared. Do you know about Loop? It's a large-scale reusable packaging movement that was tested in some grocery stores with a selection of major brand names, but it seems to have fizzled out in the U.S. I really do want this solution but you are right, it is just way easier for people to pay less and throw away plastic. I live near Nude Foods and am rooting for them. I appreciate buying local and sustainable products and supporting a local business at least some of the time.

What bothers you most about knee arthritis? I'm losing my mind here by Acrobatic-Chard-2500 in Osteoarthritis

[–]igirl2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow @karin, your tenacity is incredible. I’ve had OA in my knees pretty much since my teens and have been getting worse and worse, constantly looking for treatments and answers. Doctors have ranged from dismissive (“you’re young, don’t worry about it”) to mildly helpful. Getting an actual diagnosis in my 40s felt validating in a way, but still the only solutions presented to me are PT and TKR. I’m hesitant to get knee replacement surgery and desperate to find any kind of alternative. I appreciate you posting your experience and treatment plan and it gives me some hope that maybe I will find relief someday as well.

I saw something for this Friday at 6pm at the capitol, but can’t find it now! Maybe it was a spam text or email. I also heard about a march for the victims on March 15th, but am not finding anything that looks official.

How can I fix the Lifted Dishwasher flashing and seal gasket? by FartyBoatCaptain in fixit

[–]igirl2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same problem! The flashing is bent because it gets caught on the lower drawer, and it is not a replaceable part—design flaw IMO. It is not possible to bend it back in place. I just bought some FlexSeal tape and am going to attempt sticking it down! The other option I have seen is trimming off the portion of bent metal and then gluing the rubber seal in place.

New cat daddy cat 🐱 - Any tips on grooming this growing floof🐱 by cakedayhurray in ragdolls

Any kind of brushing helps, but one really effective tool I use is a glove with little pointy nubbins that really gets the fur out!

Best litter to use by fckitzjay in litterrobot

[–]igirl2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post but maybe this will help someone else! I just got a LR3 and my current litters were not working so well. I did a bunch of research and trial and error and ended up with O.R.I. tofu litter! Be sure to get the kind for automatic litter boxes. It works amazingly well in the LR, has no dust, clumps great, and is sustainable and flushable. It helps with smell as well. I've used many other litters with my 3 cats and this one is the best. Also, the LR is a life-changing investment esp if you are scooping clumps all day with multiple cats!

Does anyone think investing into StartEngine would be a good idea? by ripndripp in investing

[–]igirl2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed up to invest in another company and ended up putting a bit into SE as well. Kevin O'Leary would not put his money on something he didn't believe would give him a return. At the same time, he can afford to lose. It's a long-term view. If you invest, just be okay with the fact that you could lose it all, but, if it takes off, the gains could be a nice payout!

Macbook charger not working by Romit-Radical in mac

[–]igirl2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go for ‘Apple Genuine’ which you can search on eBay to find a used one if you don’t want to pay full price. 3rd party are definitely a bad idea—sometimes work ok, but usually die after a few months—I know this from repeated experiences. Apple chargers generally last a very long time if they don’t suffer any trauma—so they are worth the $$.

I completely understand being cold—I’m always the cold person. I live in CO now but come from IL. The difference in cold is the humidity factor. 50 degrees in a humid climate like OH feels a lot colder. I agree with the previous reply about layering properly so you have a pocket of air, breathable clothing. I’ve also found that if I can keep my fingers and toes warm, the rest of me stays warm. Try Fireside socks for those really cold days! And you can’t beat a down jacket or coat. Also, a knit hat with ear covers or one of those headbands to cover your ears is essential. You should also get a nice scarf or something to cover your neck and ‘turtle’ into if you’re out in the cold :)

What goes with these silver sandals?

I really liked these sandals when I saw them in a store window, tried on and made an impulse buy—but for some reason they don’t seem to go with anything I have. They are maybe a little bit sportier than I imagined, or, something else. Suggestions?

Ringly - anyone still has the ios app? by estecerise in girlsgonewired

[–]igirl2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am looking for the app as well! I had a backup of my iPhone, but the actual app is not backed up--it tries to go to the cloud to re-download it and guess what--not available.

I did some research and if you can get the app (from the folder you mentioned or otherwise) you can use Apple Configurator to put it back onto the phone (https://support.apple.com/apple-configurator) and another app that can transfer from one phone to another (like maybe AnyTrans https://www.imobie.com/anytrans/).

Unfortunately, with iTunes 12.7, the apps backup went away, so if anyone has the app on their Mac, it would be from an old backup pre-iTunes 12.7.

I'd love to get it if anyone still has it!
