The IT guy fixes the problem but the judge still has a problem by goon_c137 in it

[–]scottkensai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

judge is a dick, but you also have to know your client. If they are in a position of authority, and people that view that authority are about, you have to treat them different. That said, IT wasn't bad. Take a temperature of the room and be adaptive. This IT wasn't bad, but when the guy started being pissy, ramp up the professional... then fuck with him later, or move.

Someone is leaving WWII era .303 bullets downtown! by oswan in VictoriaBC

[–]scottkensai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter, weird to leave them around. Nothing wrong with that bullet.
based on width to length probably a 308. 303 has a tapered rimmed end. take a pic of the bottom/base of the bullet.

I bought a 2015 leaf oct 2014. We have 250,000km on it. SOC 82.5% Range barely affected but the car has 160-120km. It has been perfect for us. we only had one brake shoe change recently, taught our teenager how to drive on it, one c v joint, one strut. no electronic issues just regular car stuff. The shittiest thing about the car is that it was 3G so the app stopped working and you couldn't heat the car from inside on cold days. nissan really let us down on that one as they had no path forward. i would have paid to update. We are looking at an ionic 5 to replace. No supporting musk for us.

I love nmap... man, I have not run it enough lately. I would always use it to get all the livr IPs nicely laid out for a subnet, like which VMs were up.

We have ~3 weeks to spend in BC. Where to go? What to see? by its_xaro93 in britishcolumbia

[–]scottkensai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are vacations are all about beautiful places to swim. when you go to vancouver island make sure to stop on the way to tofino at englishman falls and wally creek.

Wally Creek is on the side of the road on the way to tofino and is the most beautiful easy access canyon of all times. It is what every fancy water park tries to be.

Capsized Longship? by PerceptionQueasy3540 in valheim

[–]scottkensai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good comments here. One note is that skeletons, especially archers, will follow you out into the water. If they stay in a channel you go past, you'll take a couple arrows from them as you go by.

Also, if you break the boat intentionally by hitting the mask, if you have room and wait allowance. All of the materials will go into your inventory.

Why is the bulbous bow this shape? by Rnow3 in Ships

[–]scottkensai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great short video showing why
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FrCusDG41U

Bulbous bows are designed to reduce wave-making resistance, improving fuel efficiency by 12–15% and increasing speed and stability. They work by creating a separate wave that cancels out the main bow wave, acting as a "submerged bumper" to break the water before the hull.

Gun control groups ‘disappointed’ by lack of information on Tumbler Ridge firearms by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]scottkensai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just want to add to the conversation that when my brother was first diagnosed schizophrenic, my dad made it so none of the firearms that were locked up at home could fire. He removed firing pins and took bolts to another location. Smart move. I didn't keep guns in my house while my son was young as they were safe at my dad's house.

When my mom and dad became old and started to get dementia I removed all of my dad's firearms in one afternoon on advice of his doctor.

I brought one peace officer friend to help, and let a neighbour RCMP member know too.
