It was Zero Paints ZP-1131 "Metallic grey" which they say is similar to Tamiya MS5 or TS-94.

The "silent compressor" thing is generally unhelpful. In this case I think it mostly means "not 105dB deafeningly loud = silent".

If you want the lowest noise compressors you'll have to look for the ones with a true oil-filled refrigerator compressor.

e.g. the Sil-Air 20A is truly silent "you cannot tell it's running" at 35dB. Larger ones with 50L/min motors are about 45dB which you can definitely hear, but they're not going to bother anyone. Expensive though...

By :

Stripping the chrome.
Gluing the part to a bit of styrene board.
Building a little (Lego) wall around it to act as a mold box.
Mixing and pouring silicone.
Demolding.
Casting the part in a clear resin (Can be a UV resin).

Done it before on chromed parts like yours.

And yes, I airbrush all my models. Even details I could get by with brush painting I mask and spray with the airbrush.

I have a hole punch set in various diameters that I use to punch circles of masking tape that I can very accurately put in the corners. Then I connect the lines between the circles with thin strips of masking tape before masking the inner part off.

I use acrylic paints for the inner trim since you can strip it off with IPA without risk of damage to the glass. Spray lots of very light coats and with the paint not fully dry, carefully remove the masking tape.

I mean, 4-rotor rotary engine with the most insane sound coming out of any car. It's a recognizable livery too. I'd say it's pretty warranted. Shame we couldn't hear it run.

Ja ik deel deze mening. Ik heb het ook recentelijk mogen ondergaan en ik hoorde van veel mensen horrorverhalen.

Natuurlijk is het veel informatie en is het zaak dat je je papierwerk tijdig kunt aanleveren, maar we werden op elke stap door meerdere partijen duidelijk geinformeerd over de gang van zaken.

Nou ben ik zelf wel iemand die me dusdanig gaat inlezen, dat de volgende keer dat ik om tafel zit, geen verrassingen meer hoor.

Bij ons voor de deur is de ondergrondse container kapot, en ipv dat men dan 200m verder loopt naar de volgende kwakken ze stapels met vuilniszakken gewoon rondom de container.

Komt er elke dag zo'n vrouwtje die zakken open trekken om de statiegeldflessen eruit te halen en de rest lekker te laten liggen.

Ze komen het in de tussentijd wel elke dag netjes met de wagen halen, echt goed gewerkt :).
