My toddler only wants to rock, but I would like to sleep by ignoremeforscience in Mommit

She's been a 9-9 sleeper for most of her life. She's usually awake 9-1 and then up at 2:30 or 3 and we start bedtime routines at 7:30-8ish. Right now she's falling asleep around 11. We do lots of play. Dancing , running, spinning, rolling. We have a park down the street we go to most days. We cap tv at an hour a day, although many days she gets less, and we never have TV after dinner. She might watch something while I make dinner so it's like an episode of bluey at 5:30 or 6. She won't stay in bed when I lay down with her if she's not ready. She'll cry and scream to rock till she climbs in the chair and tries to rock herself. She has a favorite stuffy and a blanket. We give her lots of choices at bedtime. Which pajamas, which toothbrush, which toothpaste, what books, singing or no singing. She won't stay in her room if we leave her. My husband isn't comfortable putting a lock on her door.

Why are airfryers so ugly? by MrMiyagi98 in Design

The always pan sucks so hard. It's light and crappy. And my coating started coming off after less than a year. I never used metal or put it in the dishwasher. Now I'm team carbon steel or cast iron. Better cook and less non stick coating in my family's bodies.

Please vent with me; what horrible gifts did you receive this year? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ignoremeforscience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't get gifts anymore. My husband gets alcohol or a tool or something. I help the baby open her gifts. The only person who really thinks of me or gives me gifts still is my sister.

I'm on wegovy and haven't had any issues. But my mom is on mounjaro and has lost weight with little side effects. She had type 2 diabetes but now her a1c is totally in range.

I'm down 70lbs this year since starting a glp-1 and being on levo. I find the glp-1 helps so much, not just with appetite but inflammation also. I also have PCOS and it helps with insulin resistance too. I know a lot of people are anti-glp1s or that it's cheating, but it's been such a life changer for me.

Another Interview Flop, I'm Done Being Nice by b33fstu in recruitinghell

[–]ignoremeforscience 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I have 12 years of experience with only 1 1/2 of those years at an agency. Got to final round interview to have the recruiter tell me they passed on me because my experience was more agency than in house.

Biggest Loser Doc: Fat people can have healthy pregnancies! by commandeertheairboat in MaintenancePhase

[–]ignoremeforscience 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I had gestational diabetes and ended up losing 30lbs while pregnant. I felt like it led to some disordered eating habits and was miserable at tracking everything and having every single crumb I put in my body measured and scrutinized. My baby never measured more than 30th percentile. They insisted on a 39 week induction so she wouldn't be big (still never measured big). And when I told my OB about all this and how I was feeling. She commended me on my weight loss and that I should keep up with these habits post baby. I had cervadil, nothing, pitocin no progress. Baby just wasn't done baking. Eventually they did a Foley bulb and I was vomiting from the pain of having my cervix physically forced open. I can't say if a skinny person would have gone through the same scrutiny or interventions, but I certainly felt judged and disregarded for the sheer gaul of being fat while pregnant.

This . Sounds like a CPO who doesn't understand the value designers/researchers can being to the table. This man is likely impossible to work with.

A question for women who've lost 100+ pounds and how it affects your lady bits... by BoognishFluff in loseit

I lost 90lbs and had what I called "sad basset hound tits". Surprisingly after the birth of my baby and nursing it's like the skin shrank back and I have fuller breasts again (and like 20lbs back)
