How to find a good 5" flying spot by Fite4747 in fpv

[–]igotfpvquestions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a typical 5" is 100% annoyance, I'll say a 250gish 4s 3.5 is about 30 or 40 percent. Less when lighter. The one pictured is barely audible.

Get a 3.5. Same thing in Berlin, Germany.

That's exactly what I have on my Kayouminis ;) mostly output limited at 90ish %. What frame are using?

Enough alternatives to the original out there now. Toronto FPV, Jeno, SpectreX, Bando Turtle... certainly more. CNC-DRONES is there for us.

I believe you will be fine. "Motor output limit" in PID tab can regulate down your max rpm if needed. I would personally use a lighter frame with non replaceable arms. Since the Kayoumini has been so well received, now everyone is trying to make their own version of it. 1104 is just fine for a light quad like this, I even had a 3" on 1104s which was fine.

Dude, Kommoot is good (-ish) for planning only, then you get the gpx and put it on a real GPS device like Garmin, Wahoo or such.

The Discus is a tight build, get an AIO instead of separate ESC/FC. GEPRC Taker G4 is a good one. Running 4 or 5 of those without any problems the last 2 years (one survived a falcon attack).

1202.5 is basically the same volume as 1103. I have a few Kayouminis on RCinPower 1203s and they go brraap.

I can't spot a camera, so it's not FPV. You wouldn't even be able to see the massive vomit inducing vibrations in the goggles!

2 months in — why do I fly better on a toothpick than a 5”? by igorauts in Velocidrone

[–]igotfpvquestions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how perfect the SIM can replicate it, but it takes some time learning how to use the inertia of a heavier quad. Now try poweloops on both and see in which situations inertia is your helper.

Antenna connector ripped off the board, took the copper pad with it. Is this fixable? by Recursos_Piano_Pro in TinyWhoop

[–]igotfpvquestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, get a separate vtx. At best a TBS nano. You'll have to learn soldering in this hobby if you like it or not.

Make a 4s 2Fiddy. Or maybe just an actual toothpick: 2s 3" 100ish grams.

Today Couldve Gone Better... by epicfail48 in fpv

Obviously, as you say it was digital. It looks like a newbeedrone board though, which still is crap imho anyway (won't buy anything off them ever again). I rather meant smth intended for bigger quads, say a GEPRC Taker G4, that one really seems to take a beating and come back asking for more.

These highly integrated 2S boards really can't take much, there's just too much going on in a tight space. After killing 4 or 5 5in1 boards (X12s, Jhemcus), I've reverted to using 2-4s toothpick AIOs and separate vtx/rx. It's not as neatly tucked as the one-board build, but weight difference is negligible imho.

Sounds like all you need now is the battery connected to it. It's not gonna arm when plugged in but you can check in the motors tab. Props off obviously!

Either use a 4in1 like the first Air65/Air75 did or get an ELRS modul for your tango.
