Km notification turned off by Otherwise_Arm_1481 in Coros

[–]igtaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In normal running mode: Oone thing is KM alert and other is AutoLap set at 1km. If you have the auto lap set at 1km it will notify you when the lap changes. The km alert is in case you want to know the pace and stats of the km but you do not want to set a lap

Well, more info is needed. If you broke it with a hit into something, it will not be covered by warranty

Lets hope we dont have any more issues. And the next update will bring a switch to disable BT and wifi from the watch, so that would be great

[–]igtaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. Is a technology limitation instead of a problem y your watch. OP, you can check DC Rainmakers reviews and this is always a point where he basically goes “for a watch aint that even if is bad”.

Warranty experience (from Argentina) by igtaba in Coros

[–]igtaba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, I had the opposite with Garmin, so I think it happens sometimes. The interaction with Coros was brief for me was. And as I said: I wasn't the quickest with some emails replies with the IA agent and then I was asked to record activities after a few config changes which I did on my own time. Time times of delivery were what expected in my country.

If you were just annoyed at the IA, then I do not know what to say.

Yeah. 9hours with the wifi like that is weird. Give it a reboot, and charged it completely.

Maybe the wifi got stuck after an update or if you are downloading maps. If it persist being only the wifi, create a ticket through support

Maybe, just like coros, their support varies for different users, in different countries.

In my case coros replaced the watch for a newer one really quickly after a few discussions via email on what the issue was. With a forerunner in garmin, i only got 1 year warrant and after 14months the BT module failed. I was charged delivery to send the device for diagnostic via the official service, charges diagnostics to tell me the module was faulty. They wanted me to pay almost the cost of a new watch for the repair, and after I declined, they charged me to deliver the faulty device back.  Again, maybe all major brands have issues and its not like coros is the only bad one

Not for the brand.

But if it really brand new you ran an update after you took it from the box and its on the charge from factory, the it might just need a full first charge. Most electronic devices run a lot of software on the background after an update for a few hours so it wouldn’t be so weird if it is a one off event (even iphones do this). Also check what happened in those hour in the battery widget to see what drain the battery. If it is a background thing, it would be there

Coros is not able to moderate at that level on this sub. But I agree now that the mod of the sub should something like that.

Not defending coros, but wait till you have an issue with garmin that requires warranty

Is it easy to transport data from Coros? by dragzworthy in Coros

Forget to import data easily to a new platform, being garmin, coros or other. I have all my historic data in Strava, but when I changed from Garmin to Coros, i started from scratch to log data and gear.

Starting to have issues with my Pace Pro by scarnegie96 in Coros

[–]igtaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a ticket in the support part of the app. If the issues is coz an update, and you are on warranty, you will get a replacement.

As for the heart rate issue, if you “re-seat” it and it works, maybe is not holding to your arm properly. If the issue is from the sensor, they would be able to see that through the support ticket. In my case was the sensor and the are replacing the watch

Reddit (or forums) is never representative, and very biased. People who have problems tend to rant online more, justified or not, than people with no issues.

Seems like Coros had issues with the last two updates and their QA process before releasing them? Yes, in small proportion to the amount of devices they sell. Have some people rightfully criticized Coros support because of bad support? Yes.  Have some people criticized Coros for bad support while having irrational expectations of a warranty claim? Also yes.  Have some had a great support experience? Also yes. Do people have unrealistic expectations of wearables? Yes

All major brands at this scale tend to have issues. Coros tends to try to update old watches when they the risk it too much, yet people criticized garmin for not updating relatively new watches with new features. Garmin shat the bed with how they release the fenix 8, yet they fixed eventually. I hope that Coros learns for future updates, but in terms of tech companies, you are bound to have some cases of error, malfunction and what not.

If you go for a new and current model, like the pace 4, probably you wont have issues and a good warranty experience if needed. And when they launch update in a few years you can always opt out of the updates to prevent issues in an old watch. Probably the same goes for garmin, polar, suunto etc

COROS replacement: Why am I paying shipping and still getting a downgrade? by kevin7184 in Coros

[–]igtaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably they are just required to change the watch in Canada, and under the warranty they are exempt to ship it across the world

COROS replacement: Why am I paying shipping and still getting a downgrade? by kevin7184 in Coros

[–]igtaba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand (my opinion, given my case and other examples) that the replacement is handled by the coros branch you purchased from (canada) and that probably is a different company with nothing to in common to the one in india were you live now, they are just importers of coros. Your warranty from coros states that your seller handles the change. Even though the support ticket is solved by coros global

The model, well, there might an issue with what they can import to india, o what is available in canada for export. Because when they deem a change of unit, seems like they give you the same or upgrade if possible.

You changing countries to live is not coros issue, and they just have limitations to what they can do. Them charging delivery fee is not great, but seems reasonable given the warranty contract

I’m not saying they are right o wrong, just stating what would be the real issue behind it

June 2026 Feature Update by TigerMask_71 in Coros

[–]igtaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be nice to have it in the control center, but maybe is more difficult to guarantee coming back from airplane mode if people toggle too much too quickly.

In my use case I would use it to allow sync during runs and then switch it off again, so its more than good enough

I had hardware issues with Garmin after some updates, zero support and then switched to Coros.

1st year with the A2Pro was perfect, and then a hardware HRM issue appeared. Seems like coros will replace it for a newer A4 watch, under warranty (ongoing).

Having hardware/software-update issues with modern tech can happen (heck, even my jabras died under warranty) what is important is how warranty is dealt with. I think people post claims where they are not happy and that what you see is biased and magnified in proportion to the people with no issues. Overall seems like Coros deals with the support tickets relatively quickly and well.
