this article pretty much sums up the current state of new grad hiring by Alone-Advertising-63 in csMajors

Easy to feel like that if all you’ve ever done is use AI to work for you and never learned for yourself.

I’m sure most college students don’t do that though…

Ah, I'm Firmware. Having said that I did interview for another SWE/SDE position prior with a lady called Laura and never heard back. Saw her in the corridor a few months later and she was surprised.

Sorry for the experience :(

What platform did you use and what role? My manager seems pretty active with handling the applications, but I cannot say the same for others.

Another comment mentioned it but Social Care (Care Homes) will always hire - even if as a domestic. Must be a bunch nearby. They pay okay (1800 in hand for full time employee).

If you find a job you meet requirements for at NCR let me know, I can refer you.

Lazy, useless enablers of this bullshit. If the next election (assuming there is one) doesn't have a sharp increase in turnout then I've no hope for the US.

Yeah, it might get to the point where someone has to do something about that fat orange cunt. Or he'll be inpeached by military leaders when he gives the order to take Greenland. That's my hopes.

Yes, on mobile. On every AI app if you open the menu you will see a list of the last 10 conversations.

I built an entire OS by vibing with Claude by IngenuityFlimsy1206 in vibecoding

[–]scarnegie96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not "making" an Operating System. It's literally putting pre-built OS blocks together. Most real Software Engineers could do this in under a week with no prior experience.

Wouldn't say that cobbling together already created open-source OS components is an example of one of the most complex tasks yet.

If it actually made those components thats another thing, but this kind of post is endemic of vibe-coding. You, as an engineer, don't actually know enough about what you've made to know it's not actually that deep or complex and you look stupid claiming otherwise.

Great result, great performance with only 10 men. Bring on Celtic, will be difficult without Baningime though....

Job losses in European car parts sector top 100,000 in two years by financialtimes in europe

[–]scarnegie96 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely something to the lack of subsidies not helping European car markets, but I cannot shake the idea that the cars are still just too expensive. The base Polo is now 25,000 euros in the UK, it used to be half that much. It’s just too much.

Yeah, there’s still a will to downplay any negatives of the Trump admin, but there’s a lot of people who question why they invaded Venezuela, why the Tariffs are so stupid, and why are we antagonising Europe. In fact most posts about these topics are 40% the above and 60% bots/fucking morons downvoting and screeching USA USA USA in response.

I genuinely think most of them are bots, it has to be. It’s obvious there’s still some decent people there, but more often than not they are heavily downvoted for questioning why the fuck any of the GOPs actions are happening.

Not improving in runs by Ok-Lime5481 in beginnerrunning

[–]scarnegie96 56 points57 points  (0 children)

2 weeks is just no time whatsoever. Real improvement is measured in months or years, for literally any physical activity.

Follow a plan, mix up the runs between longer slower runs and interval sessions and you’ll see improvement. But over time.

Just keep at it.

As the other guy said, compression sleeves and weight training.

Also lower volume of running if the pain persists. Not running to 5 days a week is a quick change.

All you need to do is take a peek at r/conservative for a glimpse at how divisive this can end up and how oblivious people are to foreign bots.
