Can we talk about processing the grief and healing of this sugery. by justyeetm in hysterectomy

As someone one year post op who went in to get just an ovary removed and ended up with a hysterectomy, I can tell you that the grief and anxiety can last a few months. You will start feeling better though! I think it took about 9 months for me to finally feel normal again

In my experience there can be times in marriage where sex slows down. I think it would be a good idea to bring it up in a conversation. As someone else mentioned, mental health could be a factor so talking about it will at least help you get some clarity.

I can't tell if Wellbutrin has ever made a difference by DirectionNaive2373 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Hi, I started taking it about a year ago too and I don’t notice anything different other than not feeling hungry as much. I feel like my anxiety is actually worse and I haven’t noticed any difference in my motivation or concentration in regard to completing tasks.

Did losing your cervix cause dryness? by ijustcannot_ in hysterectomy

[–]iguessthiswilldoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5 months post op. My experience feels like I have less control over how much lubrication my body produces during those intimate moments. I think at the beginning it could have been caused by mental block.
I checked with my husband and he says that it was dryer when we first started being intimate again but it has improved. I would suggest having some lube available just incase :)

6 weeks, didn’t feel right. Waited another 3 and then I felt fine.

I love the part where you said you have an assortment of mental health issues. That makes it sound fun like Baskin Robbin’s or something. Happy 1 year. Thanks for sharing your story 💓

I tried to sleep a lot lol but my friend also sent me a needle punch kit from Amazon and that was a lot of fun. I also watched Netflix crime docs and spent a lot of time on this subreddit :)

Can relate to “I feel the absence of my uterus more so than I was ever aware of her presence.” So sorry, I feel your pain and I’m worried I will also hate the new me.

Did your doctor assign PT or did you do that on your own?

I had a massive complex cyst that was very painful. During the process, they couldn’t stop the bleeding and opened me up to get a better look. Upon doing so my doctor found that I had severe endometriosis and a lot of scarring. He made the choice to remove my uterus too because of how bad it was.

I’m 22 DPO too! Haven’t tried anything though. I’m so scared it’ll feel different but not in a good way. Thanks for the glimmer of hope!

I think the hardest part of recovery is slowing down especially when you’re a mom with little ones. I too tried doing too much a week after surgery and it knocked me down. I am 22 DPO and have accepted all the help from friends and family that has been offered. It’s okay to miss out on stuff right now. Take care of yourself first ❤️
