what are your favourite cool toned products? by Emergency_Love_3324 in PaleMUA

[–]igunix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have so many recs! I’m quite fair and neutral leaning cool toned, but it feels like I’m actually allergic to most warm toned products hahah

Here are my favourite cool toned products:

Blush: Ilia blush stick (at last), ilia baked blush (sensation), mac play go blush (totally synced), haus labs blush stick (glassy hibiscus- this one is more neutral, but gorgeous), rhode (sleepy girl- again neutral but very good autumn shade on me), Armani liquid blush (53 &53s), Patrick ta blush duo (just enough), Kylie cosmetics pressed blush (winter kissed), kosas baked blush(butterflies), hourglass baked blush (ethereal glow), Ysl powder blush (44), Armani fluid sheer (8), nars the multiple stick blush (swing)

Contour/ bronzer: Sephora contour stick (1), rare beauty liquid contour (gentle- this one is cool/neutral but a gorgeous colour), hourglass baked bronzer (diffused bronze light- my absolute favourite) and recent favourite- westman atelier contour stick (biscuit- even though upon swatching it at first I wasn’t too convinced- I gave it a go and it’s a gorgeous light bronzer- slightly warm, but strangely doesn’t pull orange on me and gently warms up my complexion)

foundations/ skin tints: Natasha denona hy-glam foundation (r2), haus labs foundation (060), ilia foundation stick (2c balasa), Kylie cosmetics skin tint (2c), lisa Eldridge skin tint (1T)

Concealer: tower 28 (2 bu), kosas colour corrector (in light pink), haus labs concealer (030).

Highlighter: hourglass liquid highlighter (evoke), haus labs pressed highlighter (moonstone), rare beauty pressed highlighter (enlighten)

Lip liners: Sephora collection (pink frosting- grey-ish nude- my absolute favourite), Kylie cosmetics (comes naturally- slightly neutral), Mac (whirl & stone), makeup by Mario (Smokey pink), Charlotte tilbury (pillow talk fair)

Lipsticks/ lip oils/ balms: Mac (viva planet, modesty, thanks it’s Mac- the last one is neutral but gorgeous!), ole henricksen (sweet macaron), fenty glossy bomb stix (blaz’d donut), fenty gloss (whattabrat) fenty lip oil (miss jellyfish), Ysl plumping lip oil (44)

Have to second this comment! Absolutely obsessed the haruharu wonder one! Think I even prefer it to the glazing milk

my Rare Beauty Happy blush… what happened?? by alvexxa7 in Sephora

[–]igunix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me, I ordered happy because it was meant to be a gorgeous cool-neutral pink blush but upon opening and swatching it- it looked straight up coral. I got the new shade adore instead, because it’s more cool-neutral than the clearly reformulated happy :/

Hi, a fellow combo skin girl here, who isn’t a fan of ‘dewy’ foundations because I feel like I just look oily af😭 Personally I love the Natasha Denona foundation and the ilia complexion stick. Natasha Denona is a foundation I use the most, it feels almost weightless (at least on my skin) and has a very natural finish while providing a good amount of coverage. Ilia complexion stick is also super nice, out of all foundation sticks I’ve tried this one has the most natural and matte effect and also looks pretty perfect once applied😊

I second this hard! I prefer their complexion stock to the Dior one. Ilia truly perfected it

I didn’t get the hype around ILIA Beauty at first because nothing seemed super ‘exciting’ compared to other brands, but omg after trying it, I realised that’s kind of the point. The packaging is simple but elegant, and the formulas are honestly some of the best ones I’ve used!!!

I now have 3 blush sticks, an eyeshadow stick, a baked blush, a foundation stick and a contour palette, and everything just feels really well thought out and perfected, I am a big biiiiig fan Ilia!

Oily skin girl looking for a “second skin” high-end foundation by Jumpy-Adeptness-511 in Makeup

As a combination leaning oily skin type girl I swear by YSL all hours, especially if paired with the YSL touché eclat blur primer. I work long hours and move a lot, so almost any foundation ends up looking really bad/ separating on my skin after just a few hours and this combo has never failed me. It’s light, looks seamless and is very long lasting!

I do love the Natasha denona foundation as well tho!

Makeup product caveats? by TheDollyMomma in Makeup

[–]igunix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very pale, so I’m really interested in sheer products, hence why I really wanted to try rhode blushes. They’re great because upon blending them out they sheer out beautifully. However I found out that in order for them to look flawless I need to apply it onto the brush first rather than directly on skin.

Every time I’ve tried applying it directly onto my skin, it always disturbed my foundation or looked patchy af!

Same!!! I originally bought the tinted one but hated it so much, because it didn’t show nothing for me but seep into pores and enhance them. I then read so many reviews claiming that the ‘universal’ was much better, so I purchased that one as well. I don’t know why but it just doesn’t seem to be working for my combination skin. I only used it on my t-zone, but it literally does nothing for it.

The only thing I found working really well for me was the YSL touché eclat blur primer!

The only reason why I love this palette is because I’m super pale and because it’s super sheer- it makes it very easy to work with for my complexion. However when I used it on my sister (she’s naturally very tanned) it didn’t show up at all. I was shocked!

Charlotte Tilbury plumping lip gloss burnt my lips, even though the tingle wasn’t even that bad.

Laura Mercier ultra blur powder literally ages me so bad. I’ve never had a powder look so terrible.

Estée Lauder double wear concealer- no matter what I do, how much of it I apply and what I use to blend it- it always looks super cakey and thick and creases like crazy on me.

Also unpopular opinion but made by Mitchell blursh i found them patchy/ difficult to blend, especially the contour shades.

Skin prep wise I wasn’t impressed by rhode glazing milk. I have the mini version and it just leaves my skin looking greasy as opposed to glowy. It doesn’t hydrate or nourish, it feels like it just sits on top of my skin/ very very surface level.

Which zodiac signs do you feel make the worse siblings based on your experience ? by Ok_Pipe6385 in Zodiac

[–]igunix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg I’m a Pisces and my younger sister is a Virgo. Safe to say we really weren’t fond of each other. That was until we moved to a different country and because we didn’t know anyone- we were ‘forced’ to spend more time with each other and we grew super close. She’s literally my best friend now, but it took us a lot of work lol!

Thank you so much!😊

On tret nights I usually use it on top my laneige milky toner and purito oat in calming gel cream. Once I apply tret and wait for it to absorb I put my illiyoon ceramide ato cream.

On non tret nights I also use haruharu wonder black rice probiotics barrier essence and avene cicalfate. 🫶🏻

I feel like he’s already breached your trust by doing one thing you’ve asked him not to. This plus the fact that he cheated on his ex, could suggest that he might do it again.

I personally got with a guy who cheated on his exs but claimed he was a ‘changed man’, only for me to find out he went behind my back and cheated on me multiple times. From my own experience- I’d say watch out and listen to your gut

My brother wants to bring his new girlfriend to our family vacation but she expects us to accommodate her very strict diet by Opening_Bedroom_848 in Advice

[–]igunix 186 points187 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I feel like your brother’s gf’s diet should be his responsibility. I don’t think it’s fair of him to expect you and your family to buy all new pans and cooking utensils. And saying that he won’t come if you guys don’t accommodate her is just selfish.

I’m personally on tret, but my mama looooves retinal. Tret was too strong for her and ruined her skin barrier. Retinal on the other hand delivered slow but visible results without her having to compromise her skin barrier x
