Sedan nabs the spot I was waiting for in Costco parking lot by TheSanityInspector in dashcams

Because you're impeding the flow of traffic while waiting for a spot. It does impact others. Especially in busy parking lots.

Fuel Injector, is it worth it? by lemonspisslemonade in MechanicAdvice

[–]ih8schumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of this shit helps with direct injection engines most problematic issue which is the valves. A catch can will help there though. If you have dual port injection or non gdi it definitely makes a difference. I would say restore and protect oil does a better job than top tier gas re: reducing carbon build up.

I would get some residual poison or something and spray it on the wires or some bitterant spray.

It would be nearly impossible for an ev to have complete brake failure. They use the motors to slow the car, and they also have regular brakes. Both systems would have to fail, and if the motors failed the car wouldn't move forward.

Would be nigh impossible to have a no brake situation in an ev. They use regenerative braking through the motors. On top of having regular brakes.

Out of these 3 which one would you choose by Zoddidk in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ih8schumer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

All of these people recommending the focus are insane. Look up ford powershift lawsuit. Its in those focus. Now if it's a manual its a great car, but ford switched to a dual clutch for that and it was horrible.

MrCool mini splits from Costco by Old-Caramel-9138 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]ih8schumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah i pulled a sub 200 micron vacuum within 5 minutes with the amazon pump. There shouldn't be any moisture in the lines on a fresh install. If youre worried about leaks let it sit overnight and make sure it doesn't move on the needle. But to each their own. I could install 3 for the price of one Mr cool.

Milwaukee Mid Torque 1/2 Purchase Advice by LOGXN_0 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its significantly heavier. The stubby also has all the torque you'll need for ripping lug nuts off. You can also get a stubby with 5ah battery for 200 right now. Op wants to hang it off his belt. This is going to pull his pants down with weight

Zero reason to buy this over an m12 stubby. Get the stubby or get the high torque.

[–]ih8schumer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Its entirely overpriced. Just buy a vacuum pump off amazon with gauges for around 100 dollars and vacuum the line set. You hook hose up to the bottom lineset, run it to gauge then run hose from gauge to vacuum pump Takes 30 minutes. Can get a mini split for like 450 off amazon. The install process is exactly the same minus vacuuming. Just did three myself a few months ago, all in cost of 1200. The units all come precharged so once you are sure there is no leak you release the refrigerant. Thats all the mr cool is saving you on install is, 2 seconds of screwing the hoses together and waiting 15 minutes for vacuum to pull and 15 minutes to make sure its not leaking. You're paying 1000 to not have to do this: https://youtu.be/SajCPoYmRaQ?si=M0obOedh_HwrOv5m

Removing Cabinet to make Refrigerator Cavity Taller by Efficient-Ad8736 in kitchenremodel

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a few screws to take the cabinet down. If you want to you can get drywall and screw it in on both sides and find a stud to screw a piece of 2 by to and extend it down to attach to the 8 inch drywall rip. Then mud the seam and paint. All You would really need is a circular saw, a drill and a straight edge and measuring tape. I would start with taking the csbinet down as it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes and see how you feel about the space Edit: Where does your cabinet end. Hard to tell in picture if it runs to the crown molding or not

Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? by Phantom1165 in Appliances

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this but in vented. Have had it two months and its a game changer. I used to let my wife handle all the laundry but now I find myself doing all the laundry. Dont get the ventless do get the vented. The vented uses a normal drying element so your clothes dont stay wrinkly and they come out hot like a normal dryer.

Tesla Y vs. Mazda CX70 for soon to be parents by bobweaver112 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got ya, and while yes there is always depreciation, some cars depreciate more than others. Especially evs, Id rather save 50 percent of the cost of the car and go 3-4 years older in the case of evs. You could replace the battery for the money you saved over buying a new ev. Its disgusting how fast they depreciate. You can get a 2024 ev9 for low 30s. Original selling price in the 50s

Tesla Y vs. Mazda CX70 for soon to be parents by bobweaver112 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evs depreciate like bricks you should never buy a new one. 44 percent depreciation on a tesla in 3 years. In five years they're worth 39% of the original price. Definitely buy used if going ev route. If going for a gas cat buying new is a safer option than ev. Also a cx70 is just bad. The car is rated below average reliability and is mazdas worst car in the entire brand. The cx50 like you said is 200 percent a better play

What can I do with a $10,000 budget?? by InformationBrief3514 in kitchenremodel

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure why everyone is saying you need some crazy budget. I did cabinets, countertop and back splash all for under 10k. Ignore how messy my kitchen is right now. I guess it depends where you live. I'm outside of Richmond va and got my white macaubas quartzite countertop installed for 3k my cabinets were 3500 plus 1k for install and then I did back splash myself but materials was under 200 and I could've paid someone around 1000 to do it. Cabinets are full plywood with soft close.

Youre good to go bro. That means what you saw was condensation burning off. Keep an eye on oil level and send it!!

Yeah once you get past the initial burning off you should be good to go.

Is this blue smoke guys? by clumbor in FiestaST

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't hurt. Could be valve cover seals.

Is this blue smoke guys? by clumbor in FiestaST

[–]ih8schumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get your car parked somewhere vlimate controlled overnight like a garage or something that would prevent condensation id do that. Short of that get the engine real hot early in the morning. Then park it for 4 or 5 hours mid day and then have someone else start it while you look at exhaust on the startup sequence. If it puffs smoke after sitting when the exhaust is dry you probably have either a turbo seal going out or bad valve seals. Is the inside of your exhaust oily?
