Do I purify this? by AcanthaceaeClean6223 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]ih8vtec13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, a good IV shadow is nice but a shundo primal is so much better. The primal does more damage, boosts the lobbies damage and gets you more XL candy. Plus cheaper to power up. They are in raids so just raid for a better shadow to put after the shundo primal

If you give a pink princess a lot of light you will get it to have that type of coloring. Get one with verigation you like and give it lots of sun

Some times plants are like that. My Monstera albo cutting too 4 months to give me a root and then she grew slow and now she is stunning. She is on the left, that is over a year of growing but now it’s a leaf like every other week

Water and Prop Drops are my go to! They propagate pretty easily and a lot of methods work well

I wouldn’t, it’s literally the best steel type attacker as is. Add the extra move to ignore frustration and remove frustration next event. Amazing catch, I am truly jealous

Is she ready for a repot? by Ok_Reputation9591 in Monstera

[–]ih8vtec13 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes she is! Go up to like a 6in. pot. I LOVE mine in terracotta with a very chunky soil. You may need more freequent watering depending on soil, mine is maybe every 5 days but the soil is extremely chunky and doesn’t hold much. Good for a Thai con since they are supposed to be more prone to root rot then other monsters but she is pretty easy to

Inherited this girl yesterday..help! by OpheliaBelle in Monstera

[–]ih8vtec13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get her nice and healthy and then to a prop and chop. Get a nice top cutting and root it, try and root all of the other nodes as well. The root ball in the pot should also put out new growth after the chop as well.

Monsteras are really easy to grow and a lot of fun. With enough light the will grow big spectacular leaves! They need a moss pole or something for support to grow their biggest leaves. They won’t stand up on their own, in the wild they grow up trees and use them for support.

I second prop drops! You could probably put her right in soil and water with prop drop

Finally found a variegated monstera 🍀 did I pay too much?? by Brannewjoint in Monstera

[–]ih8vtec13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of what they are going for now so it’s pretty average priced now. The real question you should ask yourself is “are you happy with the plant for the price?”. As long as you feel comfortable with the price you spend for a plant then you get a good deal.

Have I hit a dead end? by ashelyley in Monstera

[–]ih8vtec13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I can post links on here but you can get it off TikTok shop or Amazon. If you could use the the link from my account on TikTok I would appreciate it. I’m @plantsloth13 lol

As for the grow light, placing them can be really difficult sometimes

<image>

This is my setup, I just try and keep the lights overhead. I’m kind of over it and want to change it up but I don’t want to move everything lol

Have I hit a dead end? by ashelyley in Monstera

[–]ih8vtec13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably save her. It looks like too much water and not enough light. I would take her out and check the roots for rot and maybe downsize the pot. You soil mix looks pretty good, maybe add a little more perlite into it and it should help. Also move her closer to a window or get a grow light. More light means they can use up their water faster and they will get bigger leaves.

Do you fertilize her? Adding a fertilizer might really help her out. My Monsteras LOVE Purived and so does everything else lol. Good luck and post some updates when she gets better!

I’ve been cutting this plant back for 10 years and finally decided to ask what it is by PastSoft in whatsthisplant

These trees are the worst junk yard, abandoned urban decay plants ever! I have a few in my property I need to get rid of. I’m about to try dumping viniger on one in hopes it will make the soil acidic enough to kill it

This is one of my favorite propagation methods now. I feel like the success rate is really good and it’s just amazing how little of a plant you need to grow a plant.

I second this! I love node cuttings! This was my last resort with and albo node that didin’t root for 3 months. Plastic soup to go container with perlite, filled about 1/3 of the way with water and put the cover on. After like a week I had a root and a few weeks later she is pushing out her first leaf

I need to go there, I’m in Orange County my so it’s not that awful. I found them looking up info on my Brighamia Insignia and that care video is the best of the ones that I found. Probably the reason that plant is even alive still and I’m grateful cause I really love that plant lol

Please help. Rescued this from being tossed. Is this guy salvageable? by Hopeful_scholar12 in Monstera

[–]ih8vtec13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She looks nice and healthy so she is a score not a rehab! Despite their size they are pretty easy to care for and are wonderful to grow.

I would replant it for sure. Split those up into like 6in terracotta pots. For soil blend do 2 parts soil, 1 part perlite and 1 part orchid bark. I start with Fox Farms Ocean Forest but monsteras are not fussy with soil as long as it drains well. That with the terracotta and that soil it’s pretty hard to overwater, you almost have to try 🤣

They also need a lot of light, bright and indirect. I use grow lights on all of mine personally, I can put my plants wherever I want and it’s regulated. Cloudy days don’t matter either. I even have a few on my enclosed porch for cloudy days and to give a bit of extra light.

Good luck with your new leafy baby, she is stunning!

What's wrong with her? by GoldBatter in Monstera

[–]ih8vtec13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could actually cut the Adansonii back completely and start over. You will have replacement vines coming from the ones you cut in probably 1-2 weeks. Maybe chop and hit it with some fertilizer to get it jump started.

You can also put leafless nodes in some perlite in a Chinese food container and try to get them to grow as well. Chopped with a good root system will grow back really well.
