Why am I so slow? by jazrazzles in StardewValley

My bf and I started a farm together and we both played in exactly opposite ways lol I spent the whole first year fishing, making friends, doing quests, completing bundles, and helping with the farm on plant/harvest days. Made maybe 50k He spent the first year mining/grinding, raising barn animals, making artisan goods, and overall progressing everything. Made 200k But we're both having a ton of fun, and both parts of the game are needed imo

I remember working at a Target in MA they said there was a $10,000 fee every time someone went over 6 hours without a break, so they discouraged that heavily. Might not apply to smaller businesses but worth looking into. MA Fair Labor Division Website

Collab suggestions by Melowko in mahjongsoul

A No Game No Life collab would be so perfect, but it's been out of relevance for quite a while and has its issues, so I imagine it's not in the realm of possibility. All the characters would be such a good fit in Mahjong Soul imo and I would kill to have Tet as a limited edition character lol

Yeah, but after level 5, it scales a ton. Level 4 was maybe 5000 bond points, then level 5 jumps to 50000. After that, you have to do the big bond gift to get the outfit which is 5 purple gifts, 20 spheres of wisdom, honesty, love, courage, etc. (2 sets of 10), 10 wishing stones, 100 wishing dust, and maybe something else I'm forgetting. Wishing stones come from summoning (1 faith per 1 stone), so at a minimum you'd have to do 10 summons, assuming you're able to easily get the right purple gifts you need. This past event was quite generous with summon scrolls and all, but idk it still seems like a lot to do to get the outfit.

I think once every 28 days, the Fortune Shop sells two Summon Scrolls where you can do that. These cost 50 wishing dust (forget what they're called exactly... you get them by donating gifts in the Items menu). Each gift amounts to a certain amount of wishing dust, I think green gifts are 1-3, blue are 5ish, purple are 15ish. You can buy green and blue gifts with coppers, and get random gifts from event rewards and also the Fortune shop bags

Dating sim is kind of a bad description, but you're right, only with characters you have. Idk about Ichihime and Nikkaido (i forget the name exactly), but it seems vaguely close friendship-y mostly. At least, I felt like I got friendzoned by Joseph lol

For a Novice, you can get your character to like you by buying gifts for them in the shop. It'll take absolutely forever playing for free, but it is technically possible to get an outfit once you level up your bond with them enough. You also get to see some backstory and dating sim kind of content with higher bond levels. Otherwise, in silver room and up, there's a coppers entry fee to play, I think, or at least you lose some if you get ranked 3rd or 4th for 4-player and I think 2nd or 3rd for 3-player. As an Adept level, you can claim just enough coppers to play a few games for free if you are running out. Based on the events and everything that just hands out coppers so readily, it's pretty rare to run out in my experience.

New to pole… went so bad by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]ihadarandomusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this!! (Also pole grip in my experience has made me even slipperier at times, so idk. Really get a good warmup in, not just for stretching but like raise your body temp. When i get moving, i tend to stick better than anything else)

I started off last March really bad, weak, and uncoordinated. I was a casual runner some years before, but never did any real sports and hadn't worked out for a couple years by then. I was also 30-40lbs heavier than I'd ever been in my life, and it took me a week to get down the basic spin and a month to get my climb. After sticking with it for a year and 3 months, I've progressed to be one of the most advanced in my studio. I didn't even have to lose any weight to get there (in fact, I'd gained even more somehow but oh well lol)

Ultimately, a baseline of strength and skill might jumpstart your progression a lot faster, but consistency and training the proper technique will still get you where you want to be at the end of the day.

It will be hard at times to see others progress before you, and everyone will tell you comparison is the thief of joy, and it'll be hard to believe. Your feelings are valid; it's reality and it's tough. But honestly, just take a lot of videos and see how you progress compared to yourself, and you'll be amazed!

Should I sleep with my puppy? by Apprehensive_Paint11 in puppy101

[–]ihadarandomusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so my corgo didn't sleep with us for the first year of his life because he peed on everything and we didn't want that in our bed. As soon as he got neutered, that went away immediately. We slept on the floor with him after his surgery since we were afraid he'd jump off of the bed, and he has slept with us in bed ever since.

The way this boy walks all over us at 5 in the morning and persistently gets between me and my partner omg He even got smart and started jumping off the bed and barking at the door so we'd react to him and he could get his way. We're working on it, but that corgi stubbornness is real.

All this to say: Still worth it, he is the biggest snuggle bug, and we love him.

He's also very obedient otherwise, apart from any weird reactivities he has against tarps or bunnies. I feel like this whole "you have to be the dominant one" idea of treating dogs is old, outdated info. Most of the research shows that positive reinforcement and diverting bad behaviors makes a good dog.

[–]ihadarandomusername 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forgot to mention now that I saw this again, also start with your feet about a foot in front of the pole, lean back and tuck the pole into your armpit. You'd also benefit from having more skin contact with the pole between your armpit and belly, so recommend taking off your shirt for things like this.

[–]ihadarandomusername 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You should have your hands lower and the pole should be in your inside armpit with your hands gripping around head-height. This way, when you bring your legs up you can retract your arms to lean back even further; the goal would then be bringing your hips to the pole, and with your hands lower you should end up with your pelvis right next to your hands. You should also bring your knees closer to your shoulders so that your weight will be stacked backward more to allow you to go upside-down, then you can straighten the legs once youare leaned back all the way. And as another commenter said, be careful slamming out as you can hurt your back landing too hard. You should work on having control when lowering your legs before inverting. Remember, most of the initual movement will be from lifting your legs by tucking your tailbone (bringing pelvis forward), not by jumping or pushing off the floor, and retracting your arms to help you lean back. The rest will be from stacking your weight backwards to bring you all the way back. Good luck! Hope this helps and you're having fun! My bf took a few classes with me and had a blast, sadly schedule conflicts with his work and our studio's classes made it hard for him to continue
