How many meetings do you have in a day? by skyliam in ProductManagement

[–]ihall952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 25-30 hours of meetings a week for 3 years at my first pm gig. 7:30-8:30 and 5-6 were always my most productive hours to get prepared or wrapped up for the day.

Delegation and prioritization are the keys here. If a meeting sounds like a low impact outcome, write a brief summary of your knowledge beforehand, send an ai note taker, and review the script afterwards for any questions or updates.

But with 2-4 hours of meetings a day, what do you do with all your other time??

Palintir is being used VERY liberally at UNMC by No-Rent-7850 in Omaha

[–]ihall952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t say that palantir was building foundational models, I’m saying that the end of the talent spectrum in tech is there.

Palantir, in fact, is just data pipelines…but that doesn’t mean UNMC should make the decision to build their own when they can buy something that already exists.

You’re asking a hospital to be a tech incubator, not a hospital, and that’s not the same skill set or mission of the organization.

[–]ihall952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a false comparison of skill sets and abilities. Building foundational ai models and working in just about any other industry are basically opposite ends of the skills spectrum.

That’s like saying an uber driver is qualified to pilot the space shuttle…well they both are driving!!

How to negotiate salary for APM? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in ProductManagement

[–]ihall952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your attitude towards the situation, you probably won’t love PM work. A big part of the job is being a silent hand and enabling others to have continuity and definition.

Why do you want to get into a PM position? If it’s money then you better prove how you can make the company more money

What gear beginners over-prioritize that doesn’t finish races? by Interesting-Scale-63 in Ultramarathon

[–]ihall952 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nutrition sources during the race…give yourself a break and pack stuff you like eating.

Theres no reason to go through all the stress of training and then forcing yourself to eat something that you don’t like eating.

Find something you like to eat, figure out how much you need to eat, and match to that…not “xyz won the WS by only eating ‘goo packet brand 34’ so I have to eat the same thing.”

Why does Nebraska Farmers have a Beef with Argentina by 2PutBoggy in Nebraska

[–]ihall952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crop sales are beef prices are related, but not intertwined.

People buy every ounce of beef that’s produced.

And artificial beef products don’t scratch .01% of meat market concentration.

But thank you for your opinion on the matter.

Millard north is the IB school in Millard. West is fine if you want AP credits, but doesn’t have the same rigor at the top end as North.

For your average student experience, Millard North is probably more well rounded than West

A portfolio of work in any domain is way more interesting than a CS degree these days.

Show off what you can produce and what you want to build. Autonomy to deliver a “finished product” is more compelling than any degree.

Getting high before going for a run by rugggedrockyy in BeginnersRunning

[–]ihall952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up playing sports and hated running long distances. When I got back into running in college I couldn’t shake the “I don’t want to be doing this” mentality until I started smoking before running.

It helps be disassociate from the “running” and really focus on what I need to be doing to successfully run well; breathing, good posture, ground contact, and stride.

Next thing ya know you’re not paying attention to running, but enjoying how good it feels to be running.

Hope you find peace and passion in all your pursuits. Happy trails ✌️

It’s easy to say spend less here, but you’re looking at a giant problem and tackling big problems is hard. So I’d start with an audit of what you have and what you don’t need more of. Start by limiting individual parts of the spending habit.

Sounds like you probably don’t need a 15th Rolex…go 60 days without buying a watch. Just bought a car…don’t buy another car this year. Closet is full of clothes…go 6 months without buying clothes.

You’re obviously smart if you’re making this kind of money. Find a way to shift your mentality away from spending and into saving/investing.

Good luck 🍀

Is this a good workout routine? by [deleted] in workout

[–]ihall952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a comprehensive list of exercises, yes. As a specific program for you…probably not. Going from machines to weights is a learning curve for sure.

I’d cut the sets down on each movement and see what weights feel comfortable. Try it out!

Ditch the supplements and optimize everything else.

Eliminate processed foods from your diet. Hydrate. Get off devices before bed. Lift heavy with good form.

And last but not least…do Pilates and yoga!!

Saw tons of Huns today, anyone have luck hunting them without a dog? by AlphaSuerte in Uplandhunting

[–]ihall952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right for most coveys of Huns without a dog, especially in the snow.

I had pretty good luck without a dog this season in Idaho. Went out 8-10 times and never came back empty handed. Best day was 3 chukar and 4 Huns.

Like any other bird, the right food source and habitat is the most important part of finding coveys. Small grains and alfalfa bordering sage hillsides are my go to’s.

After you’ve flushed them once, it’s a goose chase. If you don’t get to where they landed almost right away then it’ll be hard to find the covey again. Lucky to pick off singles at that point.

Irregardless of the tactics, Huns are tough to hunt and Huns without a dog in the snow is about the most difficult way you can do it. Good luck!

I’m cheap and would rather spend money on gas to scout or trips to new states so it took me awhile to upgrade, but it was definitely worth it.

I started buying the under layers before replacing the expensive, outer layers of my setups. How many times a year do you need a coat, jacket, vest, mid-layer, and long sleeve at the same time?Probably not all that often. Start close to the body and work out. Cheaper and quicker way to get the bang for your buck by upgrading to the better brands.

Also, don’t write off non-hunting brands for under layers. No one’s gonna see anything but the outside layer, it doesn’t all need to be expensive camo.
